I ordered a dish drying rack to replace our old bamboo drying rack - it was breaking and starting to grow mold. The utensil attachment that came with it had little metal hooks for attaching to the rack. They started to rust within a few weeks but since it was a "package" I didn't bother replacing it.
Now since it was time to replace the old rack I looked for one that could hold more dishes. When I settled on one, Amazon suggested a utensil attachment ("shoppers often purchase these together" type recommendation). I ordered it, but it was not compatible with the new rack.
So after a bit more research I found this one - that states it is compatible with the drying rack in the product description. What a lie!!
The hooks are bamboo this time - which is nice, as there is no metal to rust, but it does not securely attach to the drying rack at all. There is about an inch gap between the support and the hook (tried to take a picture but it doesn't do justice). The gap becomes an issue if you try to put any utensils in the attachment, as it moves forward/aft. If the weight is not evenly distributed it shifts up/down as well. Additionally, the section for the utensils is not very deep. When you put anything longer than about 6 inches, it tips far to the side and exacerbates the aforementioned issues with the gap and the hooks.
If my wife didn't want the bamboo style because "it looks pretty" I'd throw the thing away and get something that works. But form over function keeps a happy wife - hence a happy life (except when we do dishes - and since no one does dishes but a few times a day...).
Would not recommend, will not buy again. Don't waste your money!!!
