Wrong Specs - Too Thick For Impeller Ring
I ordered this along with its matching SPX3021R impeller ring. I should have tested the impeller ring right away, but I waited until install date to find out that the impeller ring was too small for this defective impeller. I had 2 SPX3021R rings to verify that the impeller was the problem. Local stores sold for almost $20 more.I've also found that the SPX3021B diffusers are made differently now so they don't fit the SPX3020-E seal plate without sanding off some edges. Not sure if it is just the 2 I purchased, but both of them had exactly the same issue.There seems to be some problems with Hayward's products in that even models that are supposed to match perfectly are not matching up properly, so I suggest you always make sure product fits with other products before you start installing them.

This is advertised as a Hayward SPX3016C impeller for a Super II pump, but it is not a Hayward OEM part. Worse, the threads diameter is much larger than those on the pump motor. The old impeller fit perfectly and was a genuine Hayward product. This item did not come in the traditional sealed Hayward bag but instead came in a generic resealable clear plastic bag with stickers to show what it is. Note that the item number on the bag calls it a SP3016C instead of a SPX3016C so that may account for the difference in thread diameter.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS HORRIBLE KNOCK-OFF. I had been without a pump for a week waiting for this but luckily I was able to find a genuine Hayward part that worked perfectly.
