Product Description

The fourth film in the Highlander series brings together movie hero Connor Macleod (Christopher Lambert) and TV hero Duncan Macleod (Adrian Paul) for the first time on the big screen. The two clansmen are forced to join forces against a man from Connor's distant past in the highlands of Scotland, Kell, an immensely powerful immortal who leads an army of equally powerful and deadly immortal swordsmen and assassins. No immortal alive has been able to defeat Kell yet, and neither Connor nor Duncan are skilled enough themselves to take him on and live. The two of them eventually come to one inevitable conclusion; one of them must die so that the combined power of both the Highlanders can bring down Kell for good. There can be only one...the question is, who will it be?

My title says it all. I’m putting his review since it’s not my type of movie

I had missed the chance to see the movie in the theatres so I spent half a year waiting for it to come out on DVD. As soon as it did, I went out and bought it. I had been watching the series for a while a few years ago up until cancellation, and now it plays re-runs on Sci-Fi Channel, and I try not to miss those. The series was always awesome and brought back the better feel of how and why the immortals were on Earth, not the alien BS that the second one brought about and the vague and pointless reasons a third movie was made...but End Game just basically brought Highlander back into "The Game" so to speak as far as a genre goes. You shouldn't have to watch the 2nd or 3rd movies to have to understand End Game, but the first movie is helpful...and some knowledge from the series as well. A must-have film for any sci-fi action fan and definitly for any Highlander fan. There can be only one...and this is it.

Initially I didn't like Endgame, but after more thought and repeated viewing I found this continuation of the TV Show to actually be quite good. Acting as both an ending and new beginning, the story and Jacob Kell tie in the closest to the original movie than the other sequels. The big selling point however is the relationship between Duncan and Connor and how it ends that gives the story emotional weight. Duncan, who considers Connor his brother, mentor, and teacher has always looked up to and admired Connor more than anyone else. Connor on the other hand has grown tired and weary of "the game" and knows the truth of what ultimately must happen in order to stop Jacob Kell. There are other elements in this movie as well that make it worthwhile. The slower pacing and superb soundtrack help give the story a darker tone than previous installments, and a subplot involving a former lover of Duncan's called Kate adds an interesting love/hate dynamic to the overall story. Definitely worth a look

Good ending to a great TV series. Some of the storylines didn’t flow well from the end of the TV series but you could chalk them up to the passing of time from the shows end.

I’ve always thought it was cool that the writers came back full circle to Conor and had him in it. I believe it a testament to Adrian Paul’s acting and expression of the Duncan character that the writers would script the TV series character to overtake the original film star.

*I strongly recommend for true Highlander fans and, well, everyone NOT to watch Highlander: The Source. Loving the original movie and the TV series so much it brought emotional depression that The Source involved such beloved characters. I wanted to like it. I approached it as a movie not directly related to the series I loved, a one-off that would follow a different path but still be ok. It pains me but I think The Source is the worst movie I have ever seen. It was all so bad there is no one place to begin. There were a couple nice tie-in’s to the original relationships between Duncan/Joe and Duncan/Methos. But that’s about it. The rest of it was a dumpster fire with seizure inducing “special effects”. I really wished Endgame truly was the end.

    Good movie. We enjoyed it.

Ok they did a pretty decent job of bringing the movie Highlander back together with TV Highlander. The two met for the initial episode of the TV series but that was it. Also they did a great job of erasing Highlander 2 and 3 from existence.

The storyline isn't too bad. Connor has basically given up on life and has entered into a Watchers' sanctuary. This was designed by them so there would never be only one. Connor's past catches up on him and the sanctuary is no more. Duncan pursues Connor's disappearance and finds himself wrapped up in the same problem. Together they must fight an immortal that is much stronger than either of them.

As Highlander fans you need to be a little forgiving for this movie to work. It definitely leaves the door open to future sequels as well. My major beef with this movie is they make Connor look old, I mean really old. You can argue his worries make him look old but I don't buy it. They did nothing to counteract the natural human aging process, and in fact purposely made him look older. Christopher Lambert does not naturally look as old as they make him appear in this movie. I could have given this a 4 but the age thing bothered me too much.

Kinda like the first one- very good despite its quirks. Not the first time Connor and Duncan team up; the first episode of the tv series had Connor in it to kick things off and give credibility to the show. Here, their lives intersect once more, but it's for Connor to pass the torch to Duncan. I won't give away the ending for those of you reading this who have never seen it, but I will say that you will see Connor at what is probably the lowest point in his centuries-old life, definitely a different man than you're used to seeing (assuming you saw the previous movies, of course). Good that they brought Joe and Methos into it as well. This one is much better than the one that followed it, so enjoy!

You have to love the series to love this movie. But, I do, so here it is. The extended version is definitely the way to see it. It gives better explanation to the story

I purchased this at the same time as the original Highlander version (also on Bluray) and I have to say the quality of reproduction and depth of colour in both was of the highest standard. It really gives the movies a new lease of life and the shots that were set in Scotland looked amazing and attractive. If you are a Highlander fan you have to buy this and the original Highlander on bluray - if you are not then the reproduction and colour depth really shows your systems to their best
