My favourite Devin Townsend album, absolute masterpiece.. I love that I got it on CD but also wish they would do a vinyl re issue.... Nothing beats the physical formats.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2006A friend of mine loaned this CD to me, I listened to it and immediately went online here and bought this one and Ocean Machine and really have not listened to much of the rest of my collection these past 7 days. I plan on purchasing Infinity and Synchestra shortly. The music is mesmerizing. I've enjoyed all sorts of musical genre's in my 42yrs but mostly prog/metal/spacey stuff and Devin Townsend really hits the spot for me. The production is absolutely incredible. I've got a very nice sound system in both car and home and this CD I can crank up to the most ultimate levels with cyrstal clear clarity. And the songs soar. They're not really all that complex in structure, but the layering, grooves and melodies are very strong and the music can really soar. Real nice stuff here.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2021My new favorite artist!! First heard him on Steve Vai’s Sex and Religion and wish I would have kept up with him back then but glad I have discovered such a fine singer, songwriter, and guitarist!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2023Quick delivery and no cracks in the case.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2009This will be a short, lame review, but I just wanted to say how amazed I am by this recording. And to this I just came across this by looking through the $5 MP3 albums! I recognized his name from Strapping Young Lad (I haven't heard anything from him since those days.) It reminds me of Jesu, a band I've been listening to A LOT lately. I'm looking forward to getting more stuff by Devin Townsend.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2011This is the best Devin Townsend record for me. It's just perfect and pure progressive metal in an awesome combination with feelings and confusion, it get's you from beggining to end and don't let you go, must be heard paying attention to the lyrics too, they're simply alucinating.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2009Enough can not be said about Devin Townsend's approach to writing music. Take your pick out of masterful, awe-inspiring, perfection, etc. Earth Day and Deep Peace are two of the finest songs I have ever heard. I strongly urge everyone interested in GOOD music to buy this. It simply does not get any better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zeitlos klasse!
Tipp!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars magnificent!
Hello all,
I agree with so much of the positive praise for this album by the other reviewers. I have been late to discover Devin Townsend, and listened to bits of Terria on Youtube after reading someones top 5 metal albums review. It is an album like no other, and proves to me as long as I live I will always discover that never- before- heard perfect album.
Yes, it is epic, towering, huge in sound and scope yet as another reviewer said, fragile at the same time. There is no brute force here, it's majestic and organic. The guitar, bass, drums and vocals all combine beautifully into a true rock classic. It may now be my best ever album.Listening to it is like an absolution of sorts. My favourite song - tiny tears; the song drips with power and emotion and the final vocal section rising to a crescendo brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it.
