Product Description
Hell Ride is a 2008 feature film from Larry Bishop being released under the “Quentin Tarantino Presents” banner. The film promises to be a blood and sex-soaked tale of motorcycle revenge and retribution.
Amazon.com
Actor Larry Bishop, who made his name in the '60s as the star of biker pictures like The Savage Seven, revives the genre with Hell Ride, a rough and raunchy action-drama produced by indie director and cult film aficionado Quentin Tarantino. Bishop, who wrote, produced and directed the film, is also top-billed as Pistolero, chief of the outlaw Victors, who cruise the sunbaked Southwest to avenge a fallen mama. Their target is Billy Wings (Vinnie Jones), head man for the Six-Six-Sixes, and Michael Madsen, David Carradine and Dennis Hopper (himself no stranger to biker flicks) are along to make sure that the job is completed. As pure exploitation, Hell Ride delivers the goods: the cast overacts with relish, and the on-screen excitement is divided equally between chopper action, fistfights and shootouts and plentiful female nudity, all set to a soundtrack of new and vintage fuzztone rock. However, those expecting the complexity and sheer cheek of Tarantino's own features may find the picture a little too retro-minded for their own tastes, and Bishop's pulpy dialogue is more overcooked than Tarantino at his most self-indulgent. Still, those craving old-school cycle movie satisfaction are likely to find that action with Hell Ride. Bishop is front and center for the DVD commentary, in which he explains in the most passionate of terms how he conceived and executed the project with Tarantino's help; featurettes on the cast (split between male and female) are brief and flashy, with "The Guys of Hell Ride" providing the most juice by focusing on the veteran actors. There's also a look at the film's custom made bikes, but the most "special" of the Special Features is Michael Madsen's video diary, which gives amusing insight into his distinctly offbeat perspective. -- Paul Gaita

- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2024Great Movie
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2024Content is the world of biker politics. Has a bit of the feel of Italian Horror and Giallo, which when done well is as good as it gets for a particular audience, of which I'm a part of.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2024Was impossible to tell what was going on half the time, but you know what, I loved it anyway!!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2008Normally I don't get a chance to catch up on these kinds of films, but this one has sold and rented better than the big titles this week so I wanted to check it out. What a ride.
A gritty story filled with violence, orgies, lots of naked women, choppers, tons of action, bar fights, and did I mention lots of nudity? Anyway - I went into this with no expectations so I wasn't let down. The writing was horrible - but after watching the BD docus I realized that was the point. They wanted to make an old fashioned story about how bike films used to be, but with more naked ladies. So I wasn't complaining. Madsen found his calling I think, and Balfour was very believable - he has improved greatly from his soft porn days (and bulked up big time). Hopper and Carradine had walk on roles, and Vinnie was his normal self, but the ladies do steal this show.
The quality of the film for BD looked ok, but the built-in grit of the film coupled with the yellow chroma on most of the lenses makes for a different viewing than I am used to with Blu. The sound was great and my subwoofer got plenty of work with all of those choppers running around. The extras were excellent as Bishop and Tarentino had no holdbacks on the interviews and docus (cuss all you want, say what is on your mind, have the ladies talk about sex all they want, etc.).
I understand why so many people have their proverbial boob in a ringer over this film, but I figure the only ones reading this review or watching this film already know they are going to have fun with this...enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2021A wild and crazy movie that will take you on one hell of a ride. The action is nonstop full of hot biker babes and tough guys taking on other ruthless gangs. Mostly filmed in the desert this film has humor and drama. Lots of T & A, fighting scenes and cool shoot outs. The only dislike I have is the references to 666 and satanic connotations. If they works crosses and represented Christ it would have looked much better.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2014I wanted to like this movie because I ride a motorcycle and am a Tarantino fan. Well, I'll say this: the movie has cool bikes and hot women. It even has a serviceable backstory. But the execution was lackluster. One gang takes out some of their guys. Their guys retaliate, then the first gang takes out some more of the other guys. Lather, rinse, repeat. Larry Bishop's acting has two moves: 1) lower the chin and 2) glare. Michael Madsen has a really cool character- The Gent, a 1%er who wears his colors on a tuxedo jacket- but he spends most of the movie stuck with some really sophomoric dialogue. Not his fault. Also, it seems all the killing maiming and multiple shootings go completely unnoticed by police or the public at large. And it helps when you're screaming up and down the road on motorcycles to have the roads to yourself- no other traffic at all- regardless of the time of day or night.
On the other hand, the DVD cost me less than $5. So there's that. You watch this one for the babes and the bikes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Todo un peliculon
El DVD viene en su caja de plastico con la portada impresa y el disco pelado, sin libreto ni nada.
Dicho esto, es un pelicula que debes ver si te gustan las motos, una historia ligera, pero muy interesante.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another classic biker genre flick
Bought this Blu-ray as a replacement for a download that I used to have. Ranks up there with Easy Rider and Stone Cold for biker flicks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

5.0 out of 5 stars FILM RARO, BUONA EDIZIONE
Trattandosi di un titolo di difficile reperibilità, mi sarei accontentato di molto meno, invece la qualità del DVD è decisamente buona, soprattutto per quel che riguarda l'immagine. Non ho misurato il bitrate ma credo sia molto alto. Consigliato.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this movie!!!
Okay, first of all, I am not a big biker film fan. Why? Well, in my opinion, the best biker flick has always been "Easy Rider". However, I was able to watch this film from a friend of mine. I wasn't too excited about it when he explained it to me, however, I thought I would give it a shot. My opinion: I loved it the first time I watched it. After watching it a couple of times, I bought the DVD. Why did I enjoy it so much? Lots of action, humor, Michael Marsden and lots of beautiful women. Not being sexist, after all, it is a biker film and there is always women in biker movies. The thing is, some of the lead women are incredible. They are funny and take no crap from the men. (The way it should be.) Sure, this is a low budget movie, but, the budget is used to it's full potential. It is a shame that they did not make a sequel.
