Product Description

Shanty Tramp (B&W, 1967): It's a steamy Okefenokee evening and young sex tart Emily Holland is on the prowl. A traveling evangelist makes a play for her but she has her eyes on Daniel, a strong young black man in the congregation. At the local dive bar she throws herself at a motorcycle gang leader who refuses to pay for her affections and takes her by force. Daniel bursts in and beats the punk senseless. Later that evening, she forces Daniel to have sex with her. When her drunken father stumbles in and catches Emily with a black man, she cries that she has been raped! The father runs to the prayer meeting with his tale of sin and the town's menfolk grab their guns and head off for a lynching. Before the night is through, the tiny backwoods town will explode with gruesome murder! Called a template for the exploitation genre of filmaking which would later come to flourish, 1967's Shanty Tramp brims with sleaze and quite a few minutes of Lee Holland's naked attributes.

Common Law Wife (B&W, 1963): Old Texas oilman Shugfoot Rainey is bored with Linda, his live-in girlfriend of 5 years, and sends for his hot young stripper niece, Jonelle, to replace her. Advised by a lawyer that she is Shugfoot's common law wife, Linda draws an Alamo-like defensive perimeter around "her house" and will not be moved. Forced to seek accommodations elsewhere, Jonelle knows how to use her body to get things done, and sets off on a sexual rampage across the small town. Determined to displace Linda and inherit her uncle's millions, she a sets a scheme in motion that will result in catastrophe! With little or no budget and a cast of characters who are each more morally repugnant than the next, Common Law Wife stars Lacey Kelly, a real stripper in the full-bloom of her allure.

It looked like a 27th generation copy from a vcr tape that was made 30 years ago

If you've a taste for the cheap and vulgar, "Shanty Tramp" will serve you a feast.

Emily is the most available woman in a small, southern town, and the daughter of the town drunk. She can be had for five dollars, which is about how much I paid for the DVD. Bargains, both.

The story follows Emily--played by the pneumatically talented Lee Holland in her first and last film--to a tent revival where she successfully propositions an evangelist, to a biker bar where she picks up the leader of the pack, to an old shed that is home to an even older mattress that has served Emily well in the past and which one suspects contains more DNA than has been seen by the entire cast of CSI. Along the way and for added spice, Emily beds a young black man; not a good idea in the South, circa 1960.

Murder; a $5.00 whore; a motorcycle gang; rape--real and claimed; alcoholism; racism; a lynch mob; and, a greedy evangelist combine to form the elements of one of the worst movies ever made. I loved every lousy frame of this film that is so bad it's great.

One piece of advice: After you watch this movie, take a shower,

NOTE: I had originally given this film just one star. Upon reflection and reading comments by others who appreciate its unintended humor, I changed the rating.

OKAY, CAMPY FILMS FROM THE SIXTIES!!! I LOVE THESE TYPE OF MOVIES!!! SHANTY WIFE NOT TO GOOD, COMMON LAW WIFE IN MY OPINION IS BETTER!!! ⭐⭐⭐

Bought as a gift. Feedback is below average. It was a horror thing dated back decades ago. Inter-racial sex in the South. Motor cycle gangsters. Bible worship service in a tent while the preacher was very evil-mannered at home. He scolded and whipped his wandering daughter. She earned quick and cheap money by selling her body. At one point, she could no loner stand her father. Oh, Shanty Trump killed him.
My friend got fed up with this movie. He didn't continue viewing the second movie, Common Law Wife.

Poor quality black and white video..predictable

Best aspect of this is the crooked revival preacher- a moral match for the amazing shanty tramp herself. The movie is very lurid in every respect. See it when you need a shady tent preacher fix. The second movie is good in title only- not worth watching.

Okay I would love to rate this film as a 1'star but I'm nostalgic...it is a poor film but it is an earlish film (1963) so I do give it some respect...the leading lady loves to flash her boobs! Not on equal par as rock around the clock etc...
