- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2013These are classic!
Pros:
+ Reliable
+ Durable
+ Easy to find refills (although you won't need it, due to lasting a long time)
+ Quality ball point ink
+ Ball point rotates every click, to ensure even wear on the tip
+ Improved from earlier models, especially the clicking mechanism.
+ Comes in pink!
Cons:
- Gel refills don't last very long.
In 1995, I got my first pens: a Parker Jotter ballpoint, and Parker Vector rollerball. This was in Hong Kong. The Vector ran out of ink quickly (I was a 7th grade student), so I stopped using them.I used my jotter for years as a student in school and then in college. I abused this pen as a student - using it to pry open staples, jammed locker doors, and more. I remember quickly bending the clip and subsequently breaking it off.
Now, I continue to buy them, for myself and as gifts. The styling is classic, and they are incredibly functional. Parker's jotters are designed so that the tip of the ball point rotates 90 degrees each click, thus ensuring that the tip gets even wear. These days, refills are easy to find, and you can get gel refills or Fisher Space Pen refills.
Also, I'm not sure when, but the clicking mechanism has been revamped. I think in the early 2000's. My previous jotter from Hong Kong stopped clicking reliably. It was also slimmer than the type sold now, and the clip is slimmer and more stream lined.
The jotter has a special place in my life. It was my first gift to my wife while we were dating. I bought her the pink one.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2012I don't like the skinny little Cross pens and I don't like the bulky Mont Blancs either. This pen is just right. It's fatter than a stick, and also shorter. I keep it clipped in my pants pocket. It never gets in the way and is always at hand. Speaking of hand, I know it's a personal thing, but it fits my hand perfectly. I'm a small-ish man. It has great balance. I like the ink, too. It's smooth, but not so smooth that it gets away from me. There's just a hint of resistence. I feel like I'm in control of the writing process.
My only gripe is they seem a bit overpriced. If you lose pens, you don't want one of these. But if a favorite pen last years, then this is definitely for you. And speaking of last, it has one of those high capacity refills. I've never run out of ink.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2019So I had a friend suggest this pen and I was ordering some things from Amazon and decided why not? Once I received it, I tried it and felt it was a pretty decent pen - at least far better than all the disposable pens in my drawer. Well, over time, I just kept reaching for this one. So here I am now ordering another one for the office. I can't knock it. I'm not a big pen fan, but these are small, light and convenient and I enjoy sketching with it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2017So, this is my first pen that I have ever bought that costed more than a dollar or so. Was a little hesitant, but the history of Parker and the reviews of the pen convinced me. Just received the pen today and as I'm testing it out, I have to say that I love 2 things in particular: 1) The CLICK! and 2) The smoothness and ink color. When you click a Parker Jotter, it is the equivalent of loading a pump action shotgun! It is very satisfying as weird as that may sound. The smoothness and ink color are definitely superior to any Bic or hand-me-down pen that I have ever used. My advice: Take it for what it is! The Parker Jotter retractable ball point pen is superior every day pen for the working person. Can't wait to seat this baby in my work shirt on Monday, and wait for the compliments to fly!
PS: mine came with medium black ink!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2018I *love* Parker T-Ball Jotters. I've been using them since I first discovered them many decades ago. They are comfortable to hold and sturdy in use and in my careless storage habits. Other lefties have shared their observation that these pens work great, unlike so many other brands and styles. I agree. The ink flows smoothly, even with a lefty's angle for holding the pen, whether that's straight up and down or with a hooked wrist and hand. I recommend using a Parker Jotter with a plastic/colored lower sleeve. I also have a couple that are all brushed stainless steel and find it more difficult to get a comfortable grip. There's less hand fatigue with the styles that have a plastic lower sleeve. I won't use any pen other than the Parker Jotter.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2017Did I have to give it even one star. It deserves minus 5 stars. This black and silver Parker Pen came with blue ink, but it was not a Black and Silver. It only looked Black and Silver through the bubble wrap. It was a Navy blue and silver gang color pen. These guys are rip offs. They should not be allowed to sell on Amazon. They show a black pen, but they come in insipid colors. It has some kind of goofy orange screw in casing to go along with it in case your dog or if you have a small child who might start chewing on it. Then, you have a replacement. For the price, it is a rip off. I should have just bought a Parker for a more expensive price with the black ink and covering with silver because I would have been paying less after I have to buy replacement black ink. They must be manufacturing these around midnight in some warehouse and dumping them on the unknowing public like me. It was a roll of the dice and I lost.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2019Parker continues to produce fine writing instruments. I have been using them for over 40 years and the only problems I have had with them were all caused by myself (usually lost, sometimes winding up in the wash after forgetting to take them out of a pocket). They are my writing instruments of choice. I prefer them to Cross and Pilot.
The only down side is that they are getting harder to find and the refills can be difficult to locate in local retail establishments. Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tank pen
What an actual tank, I saw that I bought this pen about 7 years ago in my history. Deserves a review because it still hasn't run out of the original ink with pretty regular use. I would replace one of my fingers with this pen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Parker pens are just very good. What else can you say. Refills are easy to find anywhere you go. Much cheaper on amazon than at Smiths.

Terribly disappointed. Made in India.

That's my favourite pen. I have 10s of them around the office and at home. I always buy the GEL refills (Blue) and immediately throw out the ballpoint that comes with it. Anyone who borrows or tries my pen comment how good the pen is and they think it's an expensive pen.... It's hard to find the GEL refills, so most people don't know of the possibility that they can do that.

4.0 out of 5 stars a Parker Jotter not quite from the past
I had the jotter in maybe three formats way back when ... this just doesn't quite feel (sound?) the same, but then I am decades older.
So far otherwise satisfied. I am eying replacing a slim Parker fountain pen with a more hefty Parker ... but I am still using a Cross mech pencil when not using traditional cedar pencils (for which I now have a terrific "Twin-Lens Reflex" sharpener that is very precisely adjustable ( as if you could focus/adjust a bellows !)
Gel ink quality really matters if you have any "stone" paper notebooks (calcium carbonate+resin paper) as I do.
