I keep an 80 watt bug zapper on at night on the fence, not far from the pool. I love the soundof bugs being zapped! Naturally, I needed a way to waterproof the 110 volt connector, other than justwrapping it with electrical tape...that's so bush league! I used this nice little cover in conjunctionwith a metal box, which I also bought here on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0756M5NP3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I added a 110 volt 2-gang outlet and attached it to the fence. It is a very good idea to do a "dry" assembly to see how everything fits first; which side the cover opens on; and exactly where on the fence it needs to be. The outlet box itself comes with two small taps that protrude outward so you can screw it down on the fence. Mark these holes with a pen or felt marker, and drill a small pilot hole for the screw. (Or use an ice pick to make a starter hole). The Flowtron Zapper is here:https://www.amazon.com/Flowtron-BK-80D-80-Watt-Electronic-Coverage/dp/B00004R9VV/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=Flowtron+bug+zapper&qid=1606837743&sr=8-7The photosensor is here:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P0FPVO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I installed a photo sensor on my zapper so that it doesn't run during the day. The plug end comes into our patio, and I run it into an extension cord where I've installed another outlet box with a switch on it. This way, I can cut power to the zapper in the event of rain or thunderstorms at night....not a particularly good idea to keep a bug zapper on in the rain! I might say here that yes, these zappers should probably be installed under the house eaves, however, I wanted to keep the bugs way out there by the fence rather than attract them towards the house or patio. That's just how I roll! Next time I won't use an ugly orange extension cord.

I got this to do a retrofit on an old 175watt mercury vapor light with a Mogul base, replacing it with a Dephen 60 watt corn light with the same Mogul style base. After removing the ballast transformer, per instructions with the Dephen unit, I fabricated a custom mounting plate for the photocontrol so it could sit where the previous three-prong control had been atop the fixture. The instructions with the control say not to face the electric eye directly south, and that the ideal orientation is to the north. I faced it west, and removed the light-limiting clip, with the idea that I wanted it to turn the light on later in the dusk-to-dark period, just to save electricity. One thing that doesn't show in the photo is that the wires up inside the stem mount are sealed with what appears to be a silicone material - a nice attention to detail, I presume to prevent insect and moisture intrusion. The instruction sheet was easy to understand, and gave clear information on the wiring and various operational characteristics. After mounting the modified fixture I came back in the late afternoon to observe its function. The light came on right at the time I'd consider ideal for this application. Now I'll just hope that the photocontrol continues to operate properly for a long time.

Took a little adjusting but finally got this oriented such that the light responds pretty much exactly as I had hoped. Wired the unit to switch a single light under a deck on the northwest side of the house, so had a somewhat challenging setup to get the light to stay on for a little while in the mornings, but not come on too late in the evenings. The latter was the case at first, but this is an OK problem to have - you prefer your sensor be too sensitive, rather than the alternative. The cover provided worked nicely (in conjunction with the flexibility to twist the unit on its base) to get it to work well for my configuration. Nice to no longer have to manually switch on and off every day, or forget to do so, wasting energy and/or leaving me in the dark at night.

    A few other notes:
    - the unit is a little bigger than it looks in the pics, or so I thought...
-the little metal cover provided does indeed have a small hole in it, which is different from the pictures shown. Worked well for my setup. If you don't like it, just use some electrical tape - on the back if you're concerned about appearance.
-hesitant to give 5 stars when I can't speak to the longevity, but I am very pleased thus far, and I find the $11 or whatever to be well worth the simplicity it's added to my life, however small.
