An Excellent Collection Of J. Geils Hits, A Well Produced Listening Experience, Pretty Good Sonically
I've been a fan of the J. Geils Band since they released their first album in 1970. My old vinyl pressings are all worn out and this "best of" album looked like a pretty good collection to me. It is. I like the order of the songs and the mix of live renditions. I think this is a pretty well produced listening experience. It also has a nice booklet under the cover picture if you are interested in those things.I don't know why never picked up any of their other albums on CD before this one. I think this J. Geils album is a good presentation of the band's best work. Living in central Massachusetts I used to go the the Sit-n-Bull pub in Maynard where Geils himself would perform for the pub from time to time. They closed about 10 years ago so those memories are getting old but are still good.Even though I'm a lot older and decades have passed since these songs were originally released I think they hold up well to the test of time.When I listen to this album it brings back a "Sanctuary" of memories sharp as a "Freese Frame" Image These are songs I "Come Back" to whether I'm feeling like "Love Stinks" or I "Must Have Got Lost" along the way. For day time or "Night Time" I know J. Geils will "Give It To Me" like a special "Last Kiss". Please forgive me... :-)I think this well done best-of collection is a good choice if you are just getting one J. Geils album. By now it should be pretty clear I feel this is a 5 star album. I got the CD (with auto-rip it was that was an easy choice).Hope this helps.

I don't know why never picked up any of their other albums on CD before this one. I think this J. Geils album is a good presentation of the band's best work.
