Try mixing it with stronger aroma woods such as Hickory or Mesquite BBQ smoking chips to add a subtle zest to the overall flavor.
Instructions
On a gas grill, fill a reusable smoker tray or a foil pouch with two to three handfuls of wood chips. Place the tray or pouch directly over the hottest burner until it begins to smoke. Using tongs, move it to one side to make room for the food.
The chips will smoke for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Be sure to have a second pouch or smoker tray ready when cooking for longer periods of time.

I love these for smoking pork ribs, a staple around here in Summer! Curiously, while all major stores in my area carry multiple species of wood chips for smoking, none stock Maple! It is the single best wood for ribs, hands down!
Smoked 4 pork butts with a couple bags of these. Not outstanding, but did add good flavor to the bark of the butt, and the smoke ring, so would use again, and do still have a bag leftover. Didn't give it 5 stars because I personally have gotten better results from other smoking chips. These were my results from my methods- they may work even better for you, and deserve 5 stars; however if you're not getting good flavor from them you may want to look into your method (temp, pan, water soak, placement etc).

Very good quality wood chips we soak then about 30.min. or so in cool water we think this helps to release the most flavor. Remember a little goes a long way. Super great smoke flavor to the food your smoking. No bitter taste. These wood chips are a great value.
Wood is wood, but when I can buy it from my bed, with my iPad, and not have to walk across a hot Texas Parking lot, to a box store,, it's even better. Two Day, Free Amazon prime delivery and the wood is on my grill.
I bought these wood chips to use in a Masterbuilt electric analog smoker. I use the smoker for making my own bacon and these wood chips definitely imparted that wonderful maple wood smoked flavor I was searching for. The directions and measurements were spot on. One cup of chips lasted exactly as long as the manufacturer suggested. Grade A product, will buy again.
