This is a great cd. First of all, like my title says, this is my first Beck cd. I've heard of a few songs from this cd, so I decided to order it. I really did take a chance and I'm glad I did.
E-Pro - This song starts off the cd pretty good. It's fast, unlike the rest. Though, I heard it alot before so I got tired of it. 4/5
Que Onda Guero - This is how most of the cd sounds, at least in my opinion. It's very laid back and mellow. The song has a nice beat. 4/5
Girl - I love the beat at the beginning. It sounds like something off of Mario, lol. But yeah, a really good song. 4/5
Missing - One of my favorite songs on here. 5/5
Black Tambourine - Love the beat on this. Very catchy and nice. It's one of those songs that make you drum on your desk while you sit at the computer. 5/5
Earthquake Water - The songs get better and better. 5/5
Hell Yes - This has to be one of my, if not, favorite. I just love the bass. Love the harmonica near the end. 5/5.
Broken Drum - This, for some reason, reminds me something off of Pink Floyd. Is it just me? Anyways, another great. 5/5
Scarecrow - This song picks the cd up. Good song. 4/5
Go It Alone - When will the 5s stop? 5/5
Farewell Ride - I love this song. It sounds like something from an old western or something. Very good. 5/5
Rental Car - I wish they could've done the "Taking me far, far as the rental car can goooo" twice in a row or something. I think thats what makes the song really good, but yeah..4/5
Emergency Exit - Great way to end the cd. Usually the last song sucks, but this one...in no way, sucks. 5/5
This is probably the best cd I own as of now. I just started buying cds, but that still is something. I'm gonna buy some earlier Beck stuff and see how that goes. So yeah, if you're looking for something different, pick this up.

Damaged cover
Unfortunately the cover is in very poor condition and appears to be crumbling. It may have been damaged at some point in storage?

- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2010I'd always been aware of Beck. What really pushed me to give his music a shot was when I'd discovered he wrote all the music played by the fictional "Sex Bob-Omb" from the recent movie, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. The music in the movie shined, especially the song played by Sex Bob-Omb. It was raw like punk, yet was lyrically poetic. I was hooked!
Anyway, after a quick Google search, the name Beck was suddenly attached to the songs. At first, I searched for a "Best of" album with no luck. Then I remembered one of his songs that was a hit that I was fond of. I'm sure everyone and their grandma has heard the song "E-Pro", be it at a sports stadium, on the radio, on MTV, etc... Other singles from this album I was less aware of ("Girl", "Hell Yes", "Black Tambourine") are all great in their own respect. In fact, I fail to think of a single low point on this album. As my first full Beck album, it has done its job. It thoroughly entertains me on every listen, yet leaves me craving more.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2014Guero was my favorite album when I was in college. It's hard to believe this album came out in 2005 when I was in my second year. About a month ago, I decided to purchase a vinyl copy before they all went out of print. It arrived in very good condition.
This double album was printed in the EU and comes without shrink wrap. It has about 3-4 songs on each disc. The liner notes are printed on the inside cover and each disc is wrapped is in a clear plastic sleeve. I'm assuming it was pressed in 2005 if only because of the date on the packaging. I could be wrong about that.
I have not played this record yet to check it's sound quality and fiddle with the tones, only about five seconds on the opening track to see if the fire was there or not. It's there.
The the only disappointment is that this version does not have "Send A Message to Her," "Chain Reaction," or "Clap Hands." These three songs, as I remember, made the original what it was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Odelay, parte 2

5.0 out of 5 stars Endless talent on show once more
Beck Hanson has never failed to deliver on any of his recordings and this is no exception. Guerro is just as smart, energetic, eclectic, diverse and on the money as anything he has produced before. Obviously he knows what he does well and he sticks to it. Some might say he doesn't push the boundaries enough (for instance, there is no thrash/death/speed metal or the like - not sure thats such a bad thing) but as a musician, whose primary focus is the indie pop genre, he is superlative. Everything about the man screams talent; from his choice of wonderful album artwork to the thoughtful, witty lyrical content of his song writing. I hadn't bought a Beck album for a very long time as much of my listening enjoyment, over the past 10 years, has progressed to the individual MP3 downloads.
Having recently rediscovered my 70's/80's Vinyl collection I thought I would invest in a few recent vinyl issues of some of my favourite CD-era artists. Not knowing what to expect from new 180g vinyl I have to say that listening to this album the quality on my Pro-ject Xperience 2 is a good as my Marantz CD63-Ki Sig CD player could ever reproduce. Package is average; only unprinted plain paper inner sleeves with plastic liners. Gatefold outer sleeve has reproduced lyrics. This could have been a little more excleusive by producing more artwork on the inner sleeves. I still give it full marks though as these points are a bit nit-picky.
