Product Description

Miter-Gauge Bar with a Precise Fit! If you're building jigs and fixtures for your table saw, router table, band saw, or other tools with a miter slot, you need a miter-gauge bar that fits precisely (in a standard 3/8" (9mm) x 3/4" (19mm) miter slot) and slides smoothly. The Jig and Fixture Bar does both. Proven Performance: This is the same adjustable bar that comes standard on our Precision Miter Gauge, giving you the same proven accuracy on fixtures you build. Built-In Adjustablility: Six nylon screws along the length of the bar adjust with the simple turn of a screwdriver to take up any play in the miter gauge slot. That lets you get an exact fit and retain it over years of use. Great Versatility: This 30" (762mm) long bar has mounting holes every 4" (102mm) along its length that allow you options for mounting your fixtures.

Amazon.com

Identical to the adjustable bar that comes standard on the Kreg precision miter gauge, the Kreg 30-Inch Jig and Fixture Bar features five adjusters along the length of the bar to take up any play in the miter gauge slot of your table. Ideal for building workshop jigs and fixtures, mounting holes are located every 4 inches along the length of the bar. The bar is backed by a manufacturer's limited 30-day warranty.

Great stuff, was able to micro adjust to perfect performance. Cut in half on a miter saw and used on a single sled.

Worked great for me - just what I needed.

I, like many others, am using these for the cross cut sled design from Nick Ferry. I was apprehensive based off of the multiple reviews that called out poorly crafted nylon/plastic set screws. I already have the steel ones so I was undeterred by this issue. However, I am glad to report that Kreg must have heard the complaints and improved on the plastic set screws that come with the package. These were so well made that they fit just as nicely as the steel ones. All of them screwed in perfectly with no binding or risk of stripped heads - not a one.

I still used the steel set screws that I have along with Blue Loctite because I already had them. I would encourage anyone using the black plastic screws supplied to also dab on some Blue Loctite. They thread very easily and will likely wiggle out of place over time.

    Quick facts about this product:
    1. Only one bar comes in this package
    2. Fit per on a dewalt jobsite table saw

I'm building a table saw sled that is 2'x4' out of 3/4" Melamine. I tried two separate times to make the rails out of oak. Everything went great until I screwed them to the melamine and it would swell the wood out, causing it to drag while sliding, and I ended up sanding them down so much that it allowed too much play in the track.

I bought this ONE and it took 10 minutes tops to install. I thought I should order two rails for it since it is such a heavy sled, but one piece worked great. I cut it to length, and the screws that came with the bar were sharp enough that I didn't need to pre-drill.

I purchased the Kreg Jig & Fixture bar to build a panel cutting jig for my Rockwell table saw. The Kreg bar comes with a series of threaded holes along the bar into which nylon set screws can be inserted. This feature allows a snug fit in all miter slots. The bar has counter-sunk holes for attaching to your own plywood, and the screws are included. For the money I could not find another product with the length and features of the Kreg bar.

Attaching the bar to the plywood base proved to be trickier than I had imagined. Perhaps it was my own inexperience, but I found it near impossible to prevent some deflection of the bar when it was attached with the provided screws. Because the holes in the bar are counter-sunk, any minute deviation in the screw placement will pull the bar one way or another, resulting in the bar being less-than-perfectly straight. I assumed the set screws could be used to "correct" the error in the bar's position, but this was not the case. The result is that the jig slides smoothly for most of its travel, but binds in other places. Be sure that you insert the set-screws so that the end WITHOUT the hex-key slot contacts the saw's miter slot or you will destroy the hex-key hole and render the screw useless.

I think someone with better skills and more patience could probably get better results. I would still recommend this product for anyone looking to expand their saw's capabilities.

After reading numerous complaints about the screws not fitting I had concerns about this purchase but decided to give it a try. I built a large sled for my Craftsman contractors table saw and used 2 of these. The first thing I did upon receipt was to put the nylon screws in by using my fingers. On each one, I was able to screw them in easily. I finished installing them using a jewellers screwdriver with no problems. I was able to easily adjust them to where they slid easily with no side to side movement. The sled works perfectly with accuracy of .001" over a distance of 32". That is pretty darn accurate!!

Excellent quality. Does exactly what it's meant to do. Just to clear up though I tightened the set screws with my fingers so I guess kreg corrected the problem with the set screws being tight and such. Also I am using these on a dewalt dwe7491rs and it is very tedious to get the slot tight due to this saws funky miter slot. Not the bars fault its the saw it will go in but you will have some wiggle maybe a 32nd heavy.

Wow this is a GREAT package. It is perfectly straight as far as I can measure, and no rough edges.

I'm glad I got this instead of the Incra brand. Incra IMS2 24-Inch Incra Miter Slider
The INCRA expands in BOTH directions to fill up the miter slot, whereas this Kreg bar expands in ONE direction to fill the slot. This is actually a very critical issue! With the kreg bar I know that one edge of the bar (I can choose which edge) will sit perfectly flush with one edge of the miter slot (I can choose which edge) and I can use that as my point of reference. With the Incra you have to use the CENTER of the bar and the CENTER of the miter slot as the point of reference. In my opinion, it is much easier to measure from edges than centers. I think it is especially hard to measure from the center of a recessed slot.

Realize that with EITHER design, these things really only work when the slot is straight and parallel through the entire length. Otherwise they will all give you problems.

Also, I love that all the hardware is included along with spares. It comes with a single sheet of paper instructions that actually make sense! My unit from August 2013 has:
Enough black nylon screws to fill all slots plus 3 extra. These use flathead screwdrivers so hex-key is no longer required.
More-than-i-need wood screws to attach whatever jig I want to use, fits perfectly in the precut countersink holes in the bar.
One large hole at the end that could be used to attach a larger bolt/nut type of fixture. I can see myself using this as a reference point or maybe a hard stop. A short bolt with a nylon acorn nut for this large hole is included.

A crosscut sled on a Bosch saw. All the other manufacturers make their miter bars intentionally so they can't be cut and you have to purchase two of them as opposed to this one that allows you to cut it in half which saves you money. The tracks fit with a little bit of play in them and you're able to use the nylon adjusters for a perfect fit.
