Product Description
Gore Obsessed is Cannibal Corpse's 8th full-length studio album, will redive the Death Metal genre and reign as Cannibal Corp's most most accomplished and scrutinized recording to date.
About the Artist
It has been 11 years since a small band out of Buffalo, New York released their gorified Metal Blade Records debut EATEN BACK TO LIFE, and in their decade+ existence, CANNIBAL CORPSE have accomplished much more than getting their music and concerts banned. CANNIBAL CORPSE have been repeatedly targeted by the morality police (Gore, PMRC, Lieberman, Dole), appeared in a blockbuster Hollywood feature film (Ace Venture: Pet Detective), debuted as the only Death Metal band to rank on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, graced the covers of virtually every Metal magazine in the world, toured the globe routinely and sold millions of records. All of this with zero commercial radio airplay and no exposure from MTV, save the periodic obligatory controversial news segment. On February 26th, 2002, GORE OBSESSED, the bands eighth full-length studio album, will redefine the Death Metal genre and reign as CANNIBAL CORPSEs most accomplished and scrutinized recording to date. While not infringing on their trademark sound, CANNIBAL CORPSE and multi-platinum first time CORPSE producer NEIL KERNON (Queensryche, Nevermore, Skrew, Macabre and many more) focused on technically powerful guitars and unmatched bass & drum syncopation that will leave the current crop of corporate makeup metallers slack jawed. Pit Of Zombies rips with alternating tempos and time changes that never leaves the listener behind, but drags them screaming into the pit. Mutilation Of The Cadaver is another prime chunk of meat that sees vocalist George Corpsegrinder Fisher easily spewing forth his finest vocal fury on record (including an unnerving fourteen second scream). Eight albums in and CANNIBAL CORPSE have never defied their core fan base, continually strengthening their place as the most enduring, relevant and uncompromising Death Metal band ever. With GORE OBSESSED introducing future classics Sanded Faceless, Hung And Bled, When Death Replaces Life and Dormant Bodies Bursting, CANNIBAL CORPSE have buried any and all possibility of being dethroned as the reigning purveyors of aural gore and sonic splatter. Sure to once again peek the interest of those who feel it their responsibility to protect the moral fiber of Americas youth culture, CANNIBAL CORPSE again turned to long time friend and artist VINCENT LOCKE to create a visual representation of GORE OBSESSED that could match the bands musical depiction. Having set a high standard with album covers for BUTCHERED AT BIRTH and TOMB OF THE MUTILATED, LOCKE, as expected, delivered the gore, and more. The CD cover for GORE OBSESSED will be masked for retail outlets as no censored cover will be available domestically. Upon the release of GORE OBSESSED, CANNIBAL CORPSE will headline the 2002 SPRING NECK BREAK U.S. Tour, which, in its second year will once again feature the top extreme Metal bands in the world.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2013I have to start off by saying that since the age of 12 I have always wanted to own a Cannibal Corpse album. The only thing holding me back was the fear of my mother finding it and disowning me. 7 years later the day comes where I say "screw it" and I order this album (the cover was the reason for this). I started listening to it and was INSTANTLY hooked. I cannot say enough good things about this album. Since then, I have purchased every single CC album available as well as the live DVDs and the documentary. I highly recommend this album to any metal fan. If you don't own any of their albums, then you will never have a complete collection.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2009Let's first say if your not an open minded true death metal fan you wont like this so go ahead and do us all a favor and buy a slipknot ticket so you can see their plagarist bullcrap display of mushroomhead. This may not be The Bleeding by any means but this is a damn good death metal release and yeah it has its overall monotonous death metal speed to it whilst suffering some of the older corpse qualities but if you give it a few listens you'll begin to see the color behind each songs composition that makes this album unique; if not then you obviously havent listened to most death metal bands. Vile, GOS, and BT were VERY brutal(f'n A) though in my opinion too erratic, but this album has its own version of brutality and listenability. It stays well within the headbang category without sacrificing the technical parts. The guitar work is good with catchy riffs throughout the album and the production deserves a 5 star rating. Those who say its muddy and sloppy or too much noise are listening to this through a crappy system or have the unfortunate "corporate ear". Whats heard on this album is meant to be heard because if you dont like it raw and hard then dont call yourself a death metal fans idiots!! Music is all about the feeling and this isnt always easy to find. The best part of most albums is discovering its feeling by LISTENING intentfully and taking it for what its worth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Weisse Scheibe,. Neu Rezensiert, nach CD Kauf
Erste Rezension Zum Vinyl:
Naja was soll's,.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, quick, good
I first ordered this album only cause it was really cheap and I liked the band, but the cd came surprisingly quick and without damage. Awesome!
