![Chris M. Coursey](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/S/amzn-author-media-prod/s3b8m5pu97k2c1ubqolh5bcptd._SY600_.jpg)
Chris M. Coursey grew up in Peoria, Illinois with a hankering for a life rich in joy and peace. This kind of life seemed elusive until Chris began helping people in pain and interacting with a man named E. James Wilder. Suddenly Chris found what he was looking for. Soon Chris was enthusiastically developing resources to equip leaders, couples, families and communities with the 19 relational brain skills. Every one of these brain skills plays a vital role in propelling people to effectively start and sustain their joy so they keep relationships bigger than problems. Along with Wilder, Chris developed Thrive Training to engage and equip leaders to reach the full range of their God-given potential. Thrive uses strategic exercises based on the best in brain science to create joyful character change in participants. In his work and writings Chris makes learning new brain skills fun and practical so that anyone with the time and motivation can do it.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2021I looked for this book because of what Dallas Willard called "the persistent presence of untransformed believers" in the church - including myself! We want to live transformed lives of love and peace, but trying harder and following all the rules never seem to make it happen. Transforming Fellowship helps us to understand why it's so difficult to change using our try-harder methods and outlines how we can work with the way God has designed us to more joyfully be in relationship with God and others. The skills taught in this book have dramatically changed my family.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2021This book has been a game changer for me. It has literally changed the dynamics of my family. Long overdue.. these skills are so important and we could all use some serious improvement in all relationships...
My only complaint is that there isn't enough detail (imo) on some of the skills and there's way too much advertising for his other books.
But.. the ideas are so helpful..
I thank God for this book..
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2022Life changing. The balance between knowledge and practicing the knowledge we receive while reading is wonderfully summarized within this book. These brain skills have enabled me to heal and find hope within the familial trauma bonds I’ve experienced.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2019This book gives a nice bit of information about social and emotional skills we would all need to live a meaningful and satisfying life. As I read the book, I could identify specific skills that would have made a big difference in specific difficult situations that I've been in, if I had those skills at the time. This book does a great job of showing what skills are needed and why. The only way this book falls short is being more vague and/or meager on specific action steps we can take to cultivate and learn the actual skills for ourselves. I agree with another reviewer who said that too many suggested action steps were to recommend other books or training programs.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2020This is one of a series of books from thrivetoday.org. It is wonderful education. We can be like Jesus.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2017Why does it take so long for leaders to understand the basics of church life, community life, group dynamics, loving and caring for others. Well this is the book and I tell everyone about it. Hope they buy it. Get it and SEE! :)
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2018I use this book personally and professionally. It’s my belief that every family will benefit greatly by learning this material and passing the skills on to your children and grandchildren.
