- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2021I just happened to recently find this in my Kindle Library. I had downloaded it for a walking trip on the Via last year that is now postponed until next year. I’ve done part of the Camino in 2017 with lots of preparation, but I had forgotten a lot of the “must dos”. Ryan spells it out in clear chapters. And I found myself agreeing with everything! I was surprised and grateful for the Italian phrases at the back of the book. Thank you!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2019This quick read offered everything from what to expect on the Via to what to pack. Can’t wait to hit the trail!

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful packing tips
Read this with hope for useful information, sadly it is only written for a male walker. No useful tips for s female walking the via.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless
This is a truely appalling book. Obviously written for US citizens who perhaps have neither, left the US, nor hiked before. It is full of inaccuracies He seems to think that Lucca is 'south' of Florence, for instance. I doubt if he could find his way anywhere. Also he has clearly just cut and pasted from his book about the Camino de Santiago and hasn't bothered to proof read it to ensure he is not saying ' Santiago' when he should be saying 'Rome'
