- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2020This book offers concise refreshers on grammar rules and writing tips that are easily overlooked but critical to writing professionally. I found the section on spelling and the list of frequently misspelled words particularly helpful! For such a quick read, this guide is packed with information that is explained clearly and made memorable. I'll definitely pass this on to a friend!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2025These are perfect for assisting new writers’ grammar and use of concise language. My favorite one was “why do we say ‘student body?’ Just say ‘students.’” And I deeply appreciate that.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2019First, this update brings new life and relevance to a little guide book that first crossed my path more than 60 years ago. Second, with this edition, is there some clever impish humor in the phrase "visual leaners" on the back cover, just six pages after we encounter on page 76 the list "words often misspelled"? Was "learners" intentionally omitted from the list? Finally, Professor Strunk is said to have said, "Get the little book." This 100th anniversary edition is just the ticket!
