Hey, want to take a nostalgic return to the 70's and feel like you are in a 42nd Street theater again? The answer is right here, friend. 42nd Street and his ragtag zealots of depraved cinema have got you covered with a large assortment of all the things that made the Deuce the place to be in its heyday. Ranging from X-rated gems to hardcore wrestling of questionable duplicity to some of the most screwed up films to ever been threaded through a projector. And who the hell said that print is dead? Next time some hipsters starts up with that old argument whip out a copy of Grindhouse Purgatory and tell them to lay eyes on this: Let's be perfectly clear: this is the real deal from someone who not only witnessed it, often in a drug induced haze, with drink in hand, but was an active participant in some devilish deeds in some of the worst places in the world. This magazine isn't for pansies or monocle wearing cinematic fopsters, this is the real mccoy and it is here now and needs your support before the Man shuts it all done for good. Buy this magazine and see what all the other zines are talking about. Take it from me, it doesn't get any better than this!

For those unfamiliar with 42nd Street Pete who does most of the movie reviews for this periodical, he brings a feeling of familiarity because he was there, in those famous theaters that showed the movies that had extremely limited showings anywhere else. Even as someone who grew up in a completely different world at that time the reviews make me wish I had made a visit there in the 70's. But then I might never have left. So you get that message along with a great common sensical approach to the movie review itself. Added humor as well. Then there is wrestling commentary, from a time where nobody questioned whether it was fake or not. Hopefully this magazine is around for a long time.

This Mag just keeps getting better. This issue has reprints from early issues and also new material. Great starting point if you like cheesy horror films, drive-in movies and old school stories about the real “Deuce.” And you also get 42nd Street Pete! How can you go wrong? Buy this Mag now!!

If you’re looking for a cinematic slice of Americana then you need this book. This is a history of the cinema of the people; this is entertainment pure and simple. If you love action, horror, exploitation, westerns, foreign or anything unique and off-beat buy this as quickly as possible. Read the “Back in my day ...”, stories and transport yourself to an era gone by that will never come again.
