Editorial Reviews
Review
Doris Fisher and Dani Sneed have written another wonderful book that makes math FUN for children. Bravo to the authors and illustrator for creating a big, colorful book about a topic that isn't always so entertaining. --Carmen Bredeson
Learning fractions can be lots more fun for children if there’s a fun, imaginative book to help. “My Half Day,” written by Doris Fisher and Dani Sneed, is such a book. --Craig Daily Press
About the Author
ani Sneed (One Odd Day, My Even Day and My Half Day) is a mother of three, full-time engineer, part-time writer and former substitute teacher. While teaching, Dani enjoyed explaining math in silly, but memorable, ways. Oddly enough, she was inspired to co-author One Odd Day based on a conversation she had with an elementary school librarian. My Even Day is a natural follow on to that quite odd book and there may even be a fraction of a book in the future! Dani has written several articles for Highlights for Children and five merit badge books for Boy Scouts of America including Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Geology, and is working on more. She has two co-authored bilingual books; Confetti Eggs / Cascarones and / Papel Picado. Dani lives in the suburbs of Houston with her family which includes a dog, Muffin and a cat, Cupcake. They are currently looking for a pet to name Biscuit.
Award-winning illustrator Karen Jones began her career as a storyboard artist and editorial illustrator but it wasn't until she had children of her own that she discovered her true artistic passion: children's illustration. In addition to Midnight Madness at the Zoo, Karen has illustrated One Odd Day, My Even Day and My Half Day for Arbordale. She has also written and illustrated ABC Safari. Karen and her family live outside of Raleigh, NC. Karen's children join her on many research trips to museums, zoos and aquariums-a tough job, but someone has to do it!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2020Thank you for your prompt service. I ordered this book for my math class library. This will be a good interactive resource as we move into fractions. The storyline offers opportunities to discuss fractions and get students thinking. So, I am going to read the whole book to the whole class - and maybe ask them what page would have been halfway through. Thanks for making education fun!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2013This book is so cute. Each page is full of fractions but they don't distract from the hilarious story! You need to read My Odd Day first, then TMy Even Day and then My Half Day! My kids were so disappointed that there weren't more in the series. A must for every math teacher!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2013This is a funny book about a boy who wakes to find that fractions have taken over his life (he only has half a head of hair, etc.) It walks you through his whole day. The kids think this is hysterical! A great way to start or sum up a unit on fractions.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2013The concept is fun and entertaining for younger students and gets the point across, especially for odd and even numbers . The idea of fractions is a more difficult concept. I had hoped to explore 1/2 and 1/3 and 1/4 more fully. The other smaller fractions just confused my young students.
