Perfect if you want a quick overview to see if you’re interested in reeding some more in depth books.
Really good place to start if you haven’t read a lot about MacArthur yet would make a good gift
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2015This little book was a gift to my mother, who is a big fan of George Patton. I've purchased other books for her on he man, but this is the one that she can pick up and read the quotes from a very complicated, uncompromising and brilliant man. It is a shame that he gave his superiors so much grief during WW II. My respect for Dwight Eisenhower and Omar Bradley certainly have given myself and my mother some good debates, especially how difficult Patton was to deal with during the war and how General Eisenhower did his very best to let Patton do what he did best. General Patton simply let too much ego and self-glory get in the way.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2013This book is a must read if you're interested in WWII, General Patton, or the units that made up Third Army. The interest of a student of WWII has to be heightened by this book because of its factual presentation of General Patton's actions during the war and because many of our fathers or great-grandfathers serviced under General Patton's leadership. The book is well written and consequently reads very fast. I have numerous books on General Patton and rate this book in my top three. It's a must have book for your collection of books on WWII and General Patton. Your will be proud to have it in your library.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2018the raw general is clear and concise to the point
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2019There aren't many Patton books out there, this booklet is closer to hearing it from the horse's mouth than other books that are more of speculation about Patton's wisdom.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2018Short and to the point. Seems like a condensed version of Porter B Williamsons book "General Patton's Principles for Life & Leadership which is a fine book.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2020Gift for my FIL. He loves it
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2015Was hoping to find new items in this booklet........I have read all of the Patton books by great authors, and loved Soul of Battle by V.D> Hanson

4.0 out of 5 stars "Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack."
