Editorial Reviews

Review

This book is key to understand, with historic depth, the current circunstances in Puerto Rico. Collado-Schwarz's analysis about the interlocking of the changes in the political arrangement in Puerto Rico with the objectives of the US and the dynamic of the global conflict between the US and the Soviet Union is critical to understand the meaning and the limits of the changes. The readers will find not only a valuable perspective which relates the local with the global, but certain new elements which are the results of a comprehensive research from sources never before researched about the political history of Puerto Rico. This is a history narrated in an captivating way with elements of intrigue and personal divergences. --Dr. Jorge Rodríguez-Beruff
