A must read for patients and healthcare workers alike. Great humor and honest insights throughout the book. --Diane Grieg, RN, President of the Bridgeton Healthways Journal

Hope and wisdom are offered to those new to living with an ostomy and acknowledges the encouragement from others affected. --Mark Kennedy, Senior Product Manager-Ostomy, Hollister Incorporated

About the Author

Brenda Elsagher is a national keynote speaker, comic and author. Diagnosed with colon cancer at age 39, Elsagher started examining her life and began the leap into many desires she had delayed or hadn't yet discovered. Her first book, If the Battle is Over, Why am I Still in Uniform? is now in its 4th printing and is often descibed as "Makes you laugh one minute and cry the next." Elsagher is candid as she brings the reader into an area that is still considered a taboo subject--the bowels gone haywire. Elsagher urges all to get a colonoscopy particularly if over age 50; it could save your life!

There is thick black stuff on the cover that scrapes off, crease through whole book, dog ear on back cover. Black marks on all sides of white pages. Bought as a gift but not in gifting quality.

Much joy and hope for living with ostomies for different reasons. Lifesaving procedures that need to become more accepted and talked about and appreciated. Lots of humorous and serious events.

I purchased this book for my mom after she had to get a colostomy bag due to some cancer complications. This book was able to bring her some comfort and laughs. Just the name of the book when I showed it to her brought on some
    much needed laughs.

She enjoyed the stories and helped her start navigating this new way of life for her.

I gave it, after reading it to our stoma nurse. She was laughing in
the office with the doctors…so I guess it is helpful for everyone.

This is a great read if you have or are in need of an ostomy. Humor goes a long way with a loving touch. This book will take you there. I am getting ready for my second Ileostomy, and permanent one due to Crohn's. So even though I know the ropes, it still gave me a lift. I recommend this book to family and caregivers too.

Darling book. I took it to our Ostomy Support Group meeting last week. The writer has been where all the rest of us ostomy folks are and know that LAUGHTER certainly helps us get through a LOT of difficult times.

I bought this for my brother. But let me tell you. My sister and I were laying in my bed each with our laptops and a glass of wine trying to read every thing about this thing that just happened to our brother we could for our brother and we were in shock. ..., Anyway, I found this book and we had such a great laugh at just the title. I bought it that very second. But just laughing at the title and the excerpts ........ It really helped us at that moment.
