    This is not a beginner's cookbook. There is no accommodations to availability of ingredients or tools. I had to order a few things off Amazon because I couldn't find them locally. A few of the dishes take days to make. But I like to cook, and, so far, everything I've made has been worth the time. I can't wait to make the sauerbraten. I haven't had a good sauerbraten since my aunt died 30 years ago. And the spatzle in browned butter...omg!

    He loved this book. Had some different takes on his own recipes. Keeps it in his commercial kitchen to have other cooks practice different levels of recipe building.

    This book is filled with a lot of delicious recipes. I am excited to make homemade sausage with the few recipes provided in this cookbook among the others.

    This book brings back very happy memories of the food that I miss! I wish it was available in Kindle so that I can have a digital copy in case my copy gets worn out.

    Great recipes, it would help if the author would include the region of Germany some of the recipes are from - e.g. Bavaria and some are from the North. I would recommend it for everybody who is into German or middle-European Cookery!

    Habe dieses Buch Amis geschenkt, die in Deutschland stationiert waren und wieder zurück "müssen". Das Buch ist sehr schön gestaltet mit vielen schönen typischen deutschen Rezepten, die man aber auch realistisch nachkochen kann. Schöne Fotografien runden den Gesamteindruck ab. Empfehlenswert!
