- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2017I am delighted with this book. Usually, I will only find a few recipes that I like but this particular book is the exception. Paleo is so much easier to bake. I have gotten to the point that I do not want to spend hours in the kitchen like I used to when I was baking with gluten free flours. The learning curve is much shorter with this collection of recipes.
The photography is lovely. My son was riveted to the pink layer cake with the birthday candles. He bookmarked the page and left it out on the kitchen counter so I would take the hint!
I had a question about one of the recipes so I contacted the author and I had an answer in less that 24 hours. I love that. I signed up for Elizabeth Barbone's email list because of her customer care.
In case you have not gotten the hint, I love this book and if I could give it six stars I would.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2020My kids are allergic to grains and corn and dairy. We have tried many recipes over the years. Some are ok but *eh* some have been gross. This cookbook has been amazing!!! We have tried 7 recipes so far and they are by far the best grain free recipes we have ever had! Many people claim to have grain free puffy pancakes but these are! They taste amazing and are fluffy like a real pancake. The apple pie wasn’t much to look at but was soooo yummy. I make my friends try them and get honest opinions since I haven’t eaten the real versions of these in so long. All of these recipes have been amazing. Buy this book! Also note that Hain makes a grain free baking powder you can use in these recipes. Enjoy!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2018Baked a cake from this, got rave reviews from NON PALEO guests.
Watch the recipe editing in here- One ingredient was left out from the recipe list, but i knew what to add because I read through many other recipes.
Like most non wheat baking, it may tale some tweaking.
Recipes use blanched almond FLOUR, and coconut flour, and can be made without dairy products.
Be sure you use blanched almond flour- it is a creamy white color, and is finely ground.
Not the stuff called almond meal which has almond skins ground up in it, a little too coarse/dry.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2016Even though my copy is falling apart I've been looking through the recipes and I'm really excited to try some of these amazing items. I've been avoiding wheat for years but I love baking. I'm going to try a few (the Silver Dollar Pancakes for one -- my son has been so sad we never have pancakes anymore) this weekend.
Additionally, when I wrote about my copy falling apart right out of the box, not only did the author contact me but the publisher contacted me also (very quickly, I might add). I'm really rather impressed with Lake Isle Press. I've had horrible luck with a few other publishers when their products are sub-par; well done.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2019I have read this cover to cover and learned wonderful new things about the makeup of food in their unprocessed stage. Now that I have this new information I'm able to tweak my own family recipes.
I did end up buying all of her cookbooks and pretty much have made these my goto recipe books.
Make the sandwich bread - it is delicious!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2016I own all of Elizabeth Barbone's cookbooks and could not wait to get this one! I am gluten free and love baking but had never tried baking a paleo recipe. The first thing I tried was the world's easiest cookies and they were super easy. And more importantly super tasty! I also made the jam cookies and barely got to taste any because my family chowed them down! An amazing cookbook for anyone who loves to bake!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2018Beautiful book. Lots of grain free recipes. I was disappointed to see so many of the recipes call for tapioca starch. I follow a low to no starch diet for treatment of ankylosing spondylitis. This isn't the best recipe book for a low starch diet. Almost half the recipe the 2nd ingredient calls for tapioca starch. This is grain free and thus gluten free. It does have a lot of recipes. They seem easy to follow. I have not tried any yet as I don't know if I am going to keep a book with almost half my options taken away. I wish starch was not one of her staple ingredients.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2017Awesome cook book so far. I've had so much fun baking and cooking from this book. Especially love the tortillas and sandwich wraps. The chocolate beet cake was way too beety for me but my husband said it was nirvana for him. I hope to try everything in here but in the meantime I highly recommend this grainfree gem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cookbook!
So many gluten-free cookbooks use crazy substitute grains but this one uses just almond, coconut or tapioca flours. The recipes are very easy and delicious.
