- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2016Very nicely done book, but many common birds are left out, such as the nanday conure and the military macaw. Still, it is informative.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book purchase
I bought this book for my husband, and he just loves it. We have an Aviary, and it is nice to see what other sorts of birds we could have in the future. Very informative on how to house, breed & feed our Aviary birds. Would be brilliant for someone new to Aviary life. Many thanks.

Although the book is not in the greatest shape, it is none the less a beautiful book. It could include more detailed information per species, but the beautiful pictures right along side the species write ups are are definitely a bonus.
The first few chapters do contain great information about getting your birds, bird care, feeding, housing, health issues, and aviaries.
I would recommend this book especially for beginers, but also for all bird lovers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth a buy for Finch lovers!
This book is beautiful for finches and softbills, but if you're looking for information on cages birds, this isn't the one for you. Beautiful pictures and a great size, but it also told me to keep a Senegal and macaw in an aviary! Definitely would recommend it for any bird enthusiast however.
