- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2020I just bought a brand new macOS Catalina desktop because I am teaching online and I need to have fast access to problems I run into with my computer. This book really is simple to follow. I found this book about a week before I decided to buy a new computer, and I am impressed with how easy the book is to follow. Thank you Scott for writing this book for us.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2021I am a senior who really wanted to know specific things about this program, but had a difficult time finding what I needed. Good concept but I would not recommend until the author puts in an index!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020We got this for my elderly mother who never owned a computer before we recently got her a Macbook Air. The book is written for someone transitioning from Windows to MacOS Catalina. If you don't know Windows (which Mom doesn't) the book is useless. :-( The title should be "MacOS for Seniors who are familiar with Windows". And calling it "A Ridiculously Simple Guide" is demeaning and demonstrates the author is out of touch with those seniors who are baffled by and frustrated with computers. IMO tech writers who can't empathize with their readers aren't good tech writers.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2023The majority of the information is helpful if you are transitioning from Windows product. The book assumes that you are proficient: taking photos, messaging and using Cloud. It could use
an index. Very disappointing. What is the author assuming when "for seniors" is part of the title since it's aimed at a fairly sophisticated reader of any age.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2021Spends much time describing how PC user can adapt to iPad. The format is very unprofessional. Hard to see the diagrams. Bc they are faint. Arial font, which is not good for print materials, is used. It appears to be self-published. I am a long-time iPad user. I was looking for something that would acquaint me with Catalina.
Complete waste of time and money. I also own David Pogue's macOS Catalina, which is excellent but mammoth. I was hoping to find something a bit simpler for the causal iPad user.
