- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2019Some good insights on each team and the sport itself, taylor made for that 9-13 age group. Very readable with some good fact and info. Will help your child learn about the history, how to play, and all of the MLB teams with statistics. Good book to keep the kids reading and learning numbers and strategies
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2019My 10 year-old LOVES this book: the trivia, starts, skills and every part. His 7 year-old brother also loves it. The 7 year-old is a reluctant reader and has been reading (or trying to read, some is too advanced for his level) it too. It was a great gift. I even enjoy the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2018My son loves this book.....and he's not a "reader." I'd say this is a must for any kid who doesn't like to read, but lives baseball!!!! Because they're reading while, well reading this!!!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2019My 10 year old loves the book. Started reading it on his way to his baseball game. However, it came with the hardback book already bent on the edges and some of the pages. I feel like it should have come looking new but didn’t return it since my son was anxious to read it.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2018This is a great book of baseball factoids and fun trivia. My husband is a huge baseball fan (I'm just a passing fan) and I know he hopes to share his love of baseball with our son as he grows up (he's currently three.) I thought this might be a fun start as our son loves story time. I would say this book is more for a kid who is around 8 years old and can read, but my toddler likes looking at the pictures and finds the little blurbs interesting for a while. He'll also ask questions sometimes.
As a casual fan, I've learned a lot from this book (from silly things like umpires used to wear a top hat and tails in the 19th century to facts like Bob Gibson having the lowest single season ERA live ball era.) My husband, as a baseball nut, already knew most of the facts about category leaders, etc, but still learned some of the sillier bits of trivia. What he really likes is that the book is a great way to introduce kids to the history of baseball. Not only with factoids of category leaders, but also because part of the book compares the top players of today with players in the past. So if a kid is super into Mike Trout and sees that the book compares Mike Trout to Mickey Mantle for example, they might get interested in Mickey Mantle and start to read about him and those Yankee teams of the 60s.
My only critique is a superficial one-- the pages are made to look old and weathered with some fake dog-eared pages, which I personally found distracting. It's a small nit pick and the only one I have. The book would be fine with just a plain white (or some other colored) background.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2018Fun book of facts for younger baseball fans. My 6 year old grandson had no trouble reading it. He enjoyed finding out the Cleveland Spiders were the worst big league team ever.
