- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2020There are some really delicious recipes in this book, but no pictures. I found repeatedly that there are ingredients called for in the directions that aren't in the list of ingredients, or that are listed but you're never told when to put them in. An experienced cook will know what to do. I've only hit on one totally unworkable recipe (Quinoa Breakfast Muffins), which I ended up layering into a dish and baking in the oven, rather than using the Instant Pot. So I had breakfast squares instead of muffins, and they were excellent. My favorite recipes so far are Mushroom Risotto and Millet Pilaf with Mushrooms - fabulous! My husband is no vegetarian, and even he asks for the Mushroom Risotto every now and than.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2020I got this cookbook because I bought an instapot and I wasn’t sure how to use it. I like that it has all vegetarian recipes.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2020Exactly that. This is less of a cookbook than a large collection of recipes gleaned probably from the internet and arranged in one volume. There's not much on the InstantPot itself, no substantial section of cooking tips, no guidelines for items like rice or potatoes that one might frequently cook, no illustrations, and no indication that any of the recipes have been tested to assure they really are easy and delicious. There is even a disclaimer stating that the book is for "entertainment purposes only." This is an assemblage of recipes attributed to "Karen Jenkins," with no named publisher, no author bio, and enough errors that I get the feeling that a team of people in some non-English-speaking country put this together. I bought it because of the high number of good reviews. I'm wondering how many of those reviews were purchased.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2019I’m not sure the reviews I have read are actually about this particular book.
Except for the cover there are no photos at all.
This is NOT a VEGAN book.
The author is not a man.
The author is Karen Jenkins ... not the other name I read in one review.
The table of content is not in alphabetical order so it takes some time to find anything specific.
Don’t look for the index at the back of the book because there is none.
I’m not a stickler for spelling but this book clearly had no one proof reading.
OK. That sounds pretty negative and I wanted to overlook it but then I followed the recipe on page 41:
Black Bean Soup. It calls for 1/2 cup “dried black beans”.
Guess what? They did not cook. Not even a little.
So, my husband was right. Dried beans need to be soaked.
Is this book a total loss? I don’t know yet but it certainly does not deserve 5 stars.
I think it needs a warning.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2020Very Easy to follow recipes , Lots of really good variety of vegetarian recipes , great for instant pot user. I recommend this book. Thanks author for writing a good book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2020I was very disappointed that this book has no pictures in it. The print quality is terrible - it looks like a bunch of poorly xeroxed pages stuck together in a book. Most recipes are for 2 servings - you could scale up in most cases, but why would you design Instant Pot recipes for two servings when typically people use it to make much larger batches of food? Most recipes are minor variations on a "base" recipe. I gave it two stars instead of one simply because there are a lot of recipes in the book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing and the Worst Cookery Book Ever.
Am unsure why this book has so many 5 stars. First of all there are no pictures of any of the recipes. A few would have been encouraging. The table of contents is weirdly listed by page number instead of alphabetically which makes finding a recipe tricky. Secondly ingredients are stated but then not added in the recipe. The risotto had chopped onions but nowhere does it tell you when to add them. A Creamy Mushroom Herb Pasta had no mention of pasta in the ingredients! These are the only two recipes I’ve tried so far and both fall short of being complete. Also the timings are ridiculous. Sautéing mushrooms for 7 mins burnt the pan. Then recipes said sauté for 7 more! I used common sense and added the stock way before timings. It’s a large and bit unwieldy being A4 format as well. Having said that recipe was delicious when I finally used my own ingredients. .

1.0 out of 5 stars No excuse!
Pity there are no pictures but by far the worst crime is the absolute plethora of typographical errors and omissions! It’s about every couple of pages throughout the book! I notice it’s Amazon’s own print - hire a bloody proof reader - you can certainly afford it!
Update : I’ve now used a recipe- FULL of errors!! Corn chowder has corn and potato as host two ingredients but are never mentioned in method!
Dont waste your money on this book!
