Melania Trump: Elegance in the White House Hardcover – December 3, 2019
Melania Trump’s journey from a communist upbringing to becoming First Lady gives her a perspective on true freedom that most people from western Europe and the United States take for granted. This book details in photographs and commentary the spectacular journey of a woman who brings elegance back to the White House. Fashion-forward and sophisticated, but also incredibly approachable and humble—her personal staff is less than half the size of the previous two First Ladies—Mrs. Trump is a political and cultural icon whose impact on history will surely be momentous.

It is wonderful to view Melania Trump through the lens of a camera in photographs that display some of her activities since becoming our First Lady. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. According to Wikipedia, “it means that complex and sometimes multiple ideas can be conveyed by a single still image, which conveys its meaning or essence more effectively than a mere verbal description.” It may be a more honest glimpse at our First Lady since words now a day are filled with bias of one sort or another. The book allows us to decide from photographs and less words. Ironically in Melania Trump’s case it makes sense. She has been much photographed over the years due to her modeling career. She is accustomed to having her picture taken, so as such appears more posed than natural. I would have liked the photographers to have captured her unaware so to say.
Hence I have posted three pictures. (1) Eating healthy, “…a tradition started by Michelle Obama, Melania Trump meets with the Boys & Girls Club of Washington to plant and harvest vegetables for the White House Kitchen Garden.” (2) Military service and loss, “Paying homage at the USS Arizona, Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii.” (3) Caring for ill children, “The first lady gets hugs and flowers from Amani, a child from Kenya at the Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.” Overall the book offers pleasant positive insight into Melania Trump.
