When a terrorist bomb explodes in Boston’s Logan Airport, Admiral Arnold Morgan, the President’s most trusted advisor, moves quickly to break the cell in the United States and ship the Islamic fanatics to Guantanamo Bay. In response, the Hamas high command, meeting in a terrorist cell in Gaza, hatches a vicious plan to assassinate the Admiral the minute he leaves the United States. Morgan’s old nemesis, Ravi Rashood, leads this international attack and attempt to eliminate him. The exhilarating chase swirls through southern Ireland, London, and Scotland. Desperate to protect the Admiral at all costs, the President must summon the most dangerous Navy Seal team that the USA has to offer. This gripping and provocative thriller displays both Robinson and his hero Morgan at their peak.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Even fans of bestseller Robinson's previous techno-thrillers featuring Adm. Arnold Morgan and his archenemy, SAS-major-turned-Hamas-general Ravi Rashood (Hunter Killer, etc.), may find this climax to their struggle a bit hard to swallow. After an attempted terrorist outrage at Boston's Logan Airport is foiled by chance, the captured bombers implicate Rashood in their scheme, leading the U.S. and Israel to redouble their efforts to eliminate him. While the Israelis manage to trace Rashood and his wife and partner-in-killing, Shakira, to a quiet block in Damascus, the hit on him fails when the professional squad somehow manages to detonate its explosive without verifying that the man entering the couple's house is, in fact, the quarry. Furious that Shakira was injured in the attack, Rashood devises a complicated plan to assassinate Morgan while the admiral is visiting London. Full of plot implausibilities, this entry makes a weak ending to this popular series. 5-city author tour. (June)

    If you have not read any of these books go out and do it! This book is the best of Patrick Robinson to date. Have called my circle of readers to get it now and read.

    Having read his previous books in this story line, I eagerly awaited this latest one. I wasn't disappointed. It was by far his best. I had to force myself to take a break from reading it due to nature's insistances. So what's next from this gifted author?

    Perhaps it helps not to have read any of Patrick Robinson's previous novels, as some on here seem to be comparing this book to earlier ones in the series in an unfavorable manner. I liked this novel and I liked it a lot and I will probably pick up some of the earlier efforts in due time, but notwithstanding that I found this to be right in the genre of Vince Flynn and others and a very good stand alone read.

    The characters of the Hamas asassins, General Ravi Rashood and his wife Shakira are well drawn and I found them very believable both as to their motivation and their conduct. Shakira's part of the book as she traveled to the United States and then to Ireland and England were very well written.

    Admiral Morgan has been developed in other books, apparently, but enough is disclosed of his character to assist the reader in understanding his attitude, intellect and temperment.

    There simply is a lot about this story and the way it is told to hold the reader and make this a page turner and I recommend it to any who are fans of this type of modern day thriller.

    <Yawn ....>

    I have been a big fan of Patrick Robinson's series with Arnold Morgan. Maybe it's me, maybe I'm jaded or maybe the novelty has worn off.

    Maybe the series is just grinding and winding down. For some reason, I grew bored with this tale, which tracks arch villain Ravi Rashood - a/k/a The Towel head - in his obsessive quest to assassinate Adm. Arnold Morgan.

    By the end, you might be begging Rashood to put you out of YOUR misery.

    After reading Kilo Class I was hooked on the series; however, after Ghost Force I knew I should never have purchased this book. It is astounding how an established author with unlimited money and resources could have made so many small technical mistakes in a book. When it comes to aviation he cannot get one thing right. In his book, "Ghost Force," he describes an A-4 as being a twin engine jet. As far as this book goes, I have news for you Mr. Robinson, American Airlines does not operate 747's, F-16's are not based at Langley AFB, and the USN only has a handful of F-16N's, all of which are based at NAS Fallon (Not at Norfolk or on aircraft carriers)! These are only a few examples of technical errors that Mr. Robinson makes in his book. One or two would not bother me; however, there are so many mistakes it makes it hard to continue with the book. Chapter one was so ridiculous I can't believe I continued reading the book. Most of his mistakes could be fixed with a little more research and attention to detail. Pick up a copy of Janes Encyclopedia of Aviation before you write your next book Mr. Robinson!

    One other thing bothers me about his books. As you read through them he is constantly talking up the USN Seals and the British SAS. I am not trying to take anything away from these groups' accomplishments but it is as if he has never heard of any other Special Operations Groups. He states at one point in this book that only a Seal Unit could accomplish an assassination mission in Syria. I am wondering if he has ever heard of Delta Force, US Army Intelligence Support Activity, Army Special Forces, Marine Special Operations Groups, CIA Special Activities Division, or USAF Combat Controllers. There is more to Special Operations than just SEALs.

    I have put down the book and don't know if I will pick it back up. I am somewhat curious as to how it will end but at this point I have moved on to different book. Don't bother reading it.

    Patrick Robinson sollte man ausschließlich im Original (englisch) lesen. Die deutsche Sprache ist leider nicht bildhaft genug, um entsprechend übersetzen zu können. Robinsons Romane sind ausnahmslos alle empfehlenswert, es sei denn, man hat kein Verständnis für amerikanischen Patriotismus.

    I read this whilst on holiday and because of that it was a good read. That said some of the story drifted off into the unlikely but non the less as a holiday read it was good.
