Mini House: The Haunted House Board book – January 9, 1994

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 105 ratings

Colorful, chunky, irresistible, a book that's as much fun as a toy. Peter Lippman's 2.2-million-copy-bestselling Mini-House series is a hit with kids and adults alike. You pick one up. You hold it. You turn it around. You peer inside the windows, and then you pop the latch, opening the door to the story-and to a child's imagination.

Haunted House is a wonderful and whimsical Halloween treat. The delightfully frightful story begins one dark and dreary night in a gloomy mansion. There are bats in the belfry, vampires in the windows, and an unseen narrator creeping from living room to bedroom, from attic to cellar, looking for the mysterious monstrous presence haunting the house. It's the little book that goes Boo!

This book, and several others like it that I have purchased, are really ideal for very young children. The illustrations are terrific, and the cutout books really add to the pleasure of the book. The only thing is that the tape that holds them together can let loose, so check it carefully when you get it to make sure it is on correctly. I would recommend these books.

I purchased this haunted house book 27 years ago and my little ones loved it then. I pull it out every year with the Halloween decorations but the gate that closes the book broke off so I was so happy that it's still in print because now my grandkids adore this clever little story book board. Thank you.

I expected that it was more of a flip, unfold, turn page book - it's just a turn the page, but it is adorable and my son will love it. I had same issues as most others with the binding and the latch on closing the book not staying shut - for 8-10 dollars this is way too much - on one hand the concept and thickness of the pages makes you think you understand why it costs so much, but when you get down to it, book is not worth more than 5 or 6 dollars. son will love it tho, so I kept it

My four year old grandson absolutely loves all of these Mini books. He has a playroom full of lots and lots of toys (only child, first grand on one side) but he leaves them to enjoy a new Mini whenever he gets one and goes back to the book to sit and enjoy it again.

I purchased it for my 3 years old daughter and can say that she loves it and the size is perfect for her small hands and can be taken for a walk or trip as well. Not much written, however enough for her age to keep her excited and busy.
Please note: different children finds different things more or less interesting, thus you need to consider it too.
