Introduction to Law for Paralegals: A Critical Thinking Approach 7th Edition
Purchase options and add-ons
Balancing practice and theory, Introduction to Law for Paralegals: A Critical Thinking Approach offers a well-rounded introduction to law and the American legal system. Currier, Eimermann, and Campbell’s thoughtfully revised seventh edition offers comprehensive coverage combined with interesting topics, timely cases, and effective pedagogy. Through hypotheticals, examples, and well-designed questions, the authors engage students in the process of critical thinking and analysis.
New to the Seventh Edition:
- Updated with changes in the law, new NetNotes and Web Exercises, and additional Discussion Questions and Legal Reasoning Exercises
- New case excerpts on trademark issues and the constitutionality of the disparagement clause (Ch. 13); same-sex marriage, paternity, and custody disputes (Ch. 15); inducement to commit suicide (Ch. 16); and cell phone privacy (Ch. 17)
- Revised chapter on Ethics, including revisions to the ABA Rules of Professional Conduct, a discussion and comparison of rules of conduct and ethical rules, the addition of notary public law, and a new ethics alert regarding client confidentiality
- Discussion of defamation in the era of digital media and the Communication Decency Act of 1996, contemporary torts in the digital age, and reference to the “MeToo” movement in Chapter 11 on Torts
- New co-author, Marisa Campbell, brings her extensive experience in the paralegal field to the book
Professors and students will benefit from:

- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2023I liked that the transaction was transparent. I paid for a used book and got a like-new book. The cover as the listing stated did show some wear from rubbing, however all pages and spine are intact and my book is good as new! Thank you so much the quick shipping!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2019Obviously you won't buy this book unless it's assigned, but it's really well written and gives lots of good real-world examples of the concepts. I read all of it, including chapters that were not assigned for my class I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2020The textbook arrived in excellent condition! Thank you!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2020Great school book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2022As far as the physical status of the book, there is some tears, but that’s to be expected for being a rental. Nothing too significant where it isn’t read-able. Book is actually a very easy read. If wanting an intro for paralegals, this is the way to go.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2021This book came badly damaged. I bought it "new". It arrived with cut marks all over the front and back cover. The back cover is also coming apart.
