NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The country music superstar, Food Network standout, and bestselling author shows how delicious and wholesome dishes are part of a balanced lifestyle.

Trisha Yearwood is as much a force in the kitchen as she is on stage. But after years of enjoying decadent Southern comfort food, her culinary philosophy is evolving. As Trisha says, “I have adopted an 80/20 rule: 80 percent of the time I make good choices; 20 percent of the time I let myself splurge a little.”

Whether surprisingly virtuous or just a little bit sinful, the recipes in
Trisha’s Table all bring that unmistakable authenticity you’ve come to love from Trisha. You’ll find brand-new dishes emblematic of the variety and balance Trisha champions. They skimp on anything but flavor, including dairy-free Angel Hair Pasta with Avocado Pesto, low-calorie Billie’s Houdini Chicken Salad, vegetarian Smashed Sweet Pea Burgers, and tasty, high-protein Edamame Parmesan, alongside too-good-to-give-up family favorites, such as Slow Cooker Georgia Pulled-Pork Barbecue, Chicken Tortilla Casserole, Snappy Pear-Cranberry Crumble, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls.

Trisha wants to feed her loved ones—and yours, too—food that
tastes good and food that’s good for you. So pull up a seat at Trisha’s Table and dig in!

I totally knew she could sing, but who would have thought she had these great recipes hidden!
Seriously Simple Recipes!! LOVE the breakfast burrito's and the Beef Stir Fry is sooooo yummy. I watch Trisha's show's but honestly I just don't have time to write down the recipes.. but I guess I don't need to now. I still like watching the show though lol! I cannot believe she's been hiding THIS talent all these years. We all KNOW she can sing, but cook.. and budget friendly recipes.. I would have NEVER guessed.. I need more Trisha books!!! I might need an extra copy, cause the one I have is going to end up worn out!

Trisha Yearwood sets out to make a cookbook following her philosophy of 80/20. Eat 80% good and splurge on 20%. Garth Brooks writes in a foreword that the problems he has always had with cholesterol and high blood pressure have been so improved, that his doctor didn't believe the results. So this has recipes that have improved ingredients for your health but still taste good and others that were too good to change.

Recipes include; breakfast, snacks and appetizers, soups and salads, beef and pork, chicken-turkey and fish, pasta, sides, cakes-cupcakes and pies, cookies-brownies and others. Colour photos are included for most dishes and Trisha tells about each one. There are also some tips along the way like what you are doing wrong if your crepes break up when you try to flip them and what to do if a recipe calls for unsalted butter and you only have salted.

Some of the recipes we have tried before and there are some new ones or changes to old ones. My sister and I have cooked for 2 days trying some that we haven't fixed before and with just a couple exceptions all were hits or ones my family was anxious to try. Successes were; spinach frittata and pistachio cheese dip. We laughed when we saw cream cheese rollups aka redneck sushi - but everyone loved these. Gath's taco pizza was so good and the slow cooker Irish stout beef stew that we have enjoyed before is also included. I love soy sauce and there is a black pepper tofu with soy dipping sauce that my family is even willing to try, as well as kale chips.
Not even I can talk anyone into wanting a quinoa burger with yogurt sauce. Crab cakes with dill and tarter and tabasco and lemon just hides any crab you might want to taste, but citrus cod bake is just right. A wonderful dessert is no-bake peanut butter pretzel squares.

There are lots of wonderful recipes in here. This is not a book with mediocre recipes but ones that everyone will find a majority of pleasing things to make.

    Great cookbook, heavy covers

I have both of Trisa’s other cookbooks and love them as well as her show on Food Network. I’m trying to eat a bit healthier now days so I was thrilled to find she had this one she calls My Feel-Good Favorites for a Balanced Life. No nutritional information in this one, she says she’s a singer and a cook not a nutritionalist. She also says she follows an 80/20 rule of eating healthy 80% of the time while letting herself splurge the other 20%.

When my book arrived from Amazon after reading it a bit I decided to make the Hummingbird Pancakes for mine and hubby’s Sunday morning breakfast. We both loved them. I like that there is so much fruit in them and more sliced bananas and strawberries for the topping. I didn’t even need to add syrup to mine as they were delicious. Hubby did add a bit to his along with the leftover crushed pineapple.

Next I made Pork Tenderloin with honey mustard glaze. While it was good son and I though a bit on the sweet side for us. It was really tender. After that I made Cornbread Chili Casserole which was very good. I think next time I’ll use my own cornbread recipe though since we prefer our cornbread not sweetened like the boxed kind.

Then for my daughter’s and my work lunches I made Orzo Salad which was amazing. Finally I made Beef Stir Fry which hubby and I loved. I did used the option of green beans instead of snow peas since they are cheaper and easier to find here.

I’m not though cooking from this one as there are many more recipes I want to try. Things like Edamame Parmesan, Slow Cooker Irish Stout Beef Stew, Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup, Quina Corn Chowder, Spinach Stuffed Shells, Grits and Greens Casserole, Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios, Banana Pudding Cake, and Glazed Lemon Cookies.

The best of the best in true home cooking. Her recipes allow for personal preferences to be added or taken away from ingredients or steps in the process according to what's liked or not liked - much like her hubby likes to make additions and deletions. So down to earth and dearly loved....Trisha, Garth, and their entire family. Her cookbooks reflect all of that and so much more. Watch her show every Saturday morning and I don't miss repeats because I truly enjoy each show even more a 2nd or 3rd time. The shows with her sister Beth remind me of being together with my own sisters. I think I laugh harder at Trisha's "out takes" than she does!

Love the intro stories to each recipe and the side tips that are included with some of them. The Cran Apple Crisp is delicious. Also, even though I bought the used like new I was impressed with the company because of the quick delivery, the condition of the book and their personal inquiry if I was satisfied with my purchase. Absolutely!😊
