Naughty Mabel Hardcover – Picture Book, October 6, 2015
Purchase options and add-ons
Meet Mabel, the fanciest French bulldog the Hamptons have ever seen. Mabel is many things: sassy, classy (and sometimes a bit gassy!), but especially...naughty! Mabel’s always getting herself into trouble—and with style like hers, can you really blame her? When Naughty Mabel’s parents throw a party and try to leave her out of the fun, of course she must take matters into her own perfectly pedicured paws. As the hilarity ensues, Mabel and her parents learn that through thick and thin, naughty or nice, they’ll always be a family, just as they are.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2022It's a nice large book with colorful pictures and large print. Cute story I'm a huge fan of Nathan Lane and do hope to get it personally signed. I like to get comedians first published books and then get them personally signed. I know he is more of an actor, but I feel he's funny enough to be in my collection.

Great story. Beautifully made.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2015What a wonderful book! As an owner of 2 very spoiled Frenchies myself, I pre-ordered this in March and it was worth the wait. The book is beautiful. Large and colorful, wonderful illustrations and a charming storyline. I had originally purchased this for my 5 year old niece, but it looks like I will need to buy another one because I'll be hanging on to this copy. I highly recommend this book for children and dog-lovers alike! Now if only I could get Nathan Lane to sign it!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2015All I can say is BUY THIS BOOK!!!! It is an absolute hoot!!! I've never had a Frenchie but have gone through 3 Boston Terriers and can relate 100% to this book. You capturedly the personality perfectly. The authors and illustrator are so in tune with their furbabies it's uncanny. Thank you so much for writing this book. It is a true delight for dog lovers and it just made my day. I saw Nathan on Ellen and she showed pics of the "real" Mabel. So cute!!! What a wonderful tribute to your dog. Keep on spoilin' that dog!!!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2016Super cute book. Bought as a Christmas present for my 6 year old son who's self proclaimed favorite dog breed is a French bulldog. This is definitely now one of his favorite books, it is a regular in the rotation of bedtime stories. I enjoy it as well because I find it impossible to not imagine hearing Nathan Lane saying every word with some Mabel sass.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2015Our next door neighbors have a puppy named Mabel. So, when I heard an interview with Nathan Lane talking about this book, I immediately ordered a copy for my daughter and one for the little boys next door. My daughter is 2 so I didn't know if it would hold her attention, but she loves it. Every time we get to the page that says that Mabel is naughty, she yells "NAAAUGHTYYYY!!!!"
The illustrations are adorable. Its entertaining for adults too.
Sidenote* My goldendoodle, Ruby, also loves it. :-)

- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2021We received this as a gift from a friend who works in publishing and both of our kids LOVE it as well as we really have fun reading it to them! It's so cute! We honestly read it (and gift it) more than any other book. They're 5 and 7 now and we've been reading it to our older daughter since she was about 2; it's pretty long for a two year old but she sat through it every time.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2017This is an absolutely adorable book for kids and grown ups alike. I originally purchased the book because our family adores French Bulldogs, but I would have loved it regardless of the dog breed in the story. The story itself is adorable and hysterical and the artwork is great to go along with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful!
My 7 year old is obsessed with this book. It's a cute story about a naughty, free-spirited dog who finds out her human parents love her, no matter what. I read it to a grade 1 class and they laughed through the whole thing. As soon as I was finished, they asked me to read it again.
I recommend it, my 7 year old recommends it.
