Purchase options and add-ons

In this shockingly true-to-life novel written by an all-star team of Internet phenoms from the Total Frat Move generation, you’ll get the first true glimpse of “real” sorority life in all its f**ked up glory.

Dirty Rush byTaylor Bell is what happens when you take the creative minds behind Babe Walker (author of the New York Times bestselling White Girl Problems series) and add Rebecca Martinson to the mix. Rebecca Martinson—yes, that bitch—the former Delta Gamma sister responsible for the scathing, expletive-filled email that verbally assaulted her entire chapter for being “so f**king boring” at social functions, and threatened to “c*nt punt” every last one of them if their behavior didn’t shape up. Dirty Rush is a no-holds-barred look at what really happens when you “go Greek.”

Taylor Bell comes from a long line of Beta Zeta sorority sisters, who all expect her to pledge upon starting at the university. But Taylor has other plans: she’s determined to give her family the proverbial middle finger and destroy the rich tradition they hold so dear by eschewing sorority life altogether. However, Taylor’s resolve soon melts when she falls in with a group of hilarious, ultra-saucy girls, who introduce her to all things Greek and soften her to the idea of joining. Resigned to the fate the Greek gods have dealt her, Taylor pledges Beta Zeta and embarks on a collegiate career filled with the kind of carousing sure to make any sorority sister proud.

Soon, Taylor’s experience as a BZ starts to feel like a jacked-up, drug-infused, and X-rated fairy tale—especially when reality comes crashing down and a rather lewd sex tape is leaked. The girl in the video looks a lot like Taylor. Has Taylor gone off the deep end? Or is someone trying to frame her? Unless she can prove her innocence and re-ingratiate herself with the sisters who’ve accused her of leaking the video in a Kim Kardashian–style bid for attention, Taylor is at risk of losing everything she’s fought (partied) so hard for.

Review

"Dirty Rush is a brutally honest and seriously funny take on the modern sorority scene. If you've ever dressed exactly like a hundred other girls while holding candles and singing badly (or wondered about those who have) then you'll adore this quick, clever, quirky ride!" -- New York Times Bestselling author Jennifer Lancaster

"I'm not in the habit of giving compliments, but this book is really f*cking funny and fun and cute." -- Babe Walker, New York Times Bestselling Author of White Girl Problems.

“Stop. Wait. Really? LOL.” -- Whitney Port, The Hills, The City

About the Author

Taylor Bell is a freshman at Central Delaware University. She’s a third-generation Beta Zeta, her favorite band is The Smiths and she grew up with a pug named Percy, until her mom backed into the poor thing while drunk, crushing his sweet little pug skull. So, she’s a tough cookie. After having her life turned completely upside down by the girls of BZ, she had no choice but to tell her story. Dirty Rush is that story, and that story is this book, and this book is Dirty Rush.

Not even the book I ordered-Fake Cover!!!
I had to choose "poor" on the question about the author's writing in order for it to allow me to write a review, however, that is not the issue at hand. When I opened up the package it looked like the book, "Dirty Rush" that I had ordered, upon second glance, I noticed there was a shiny title embossed in the cover under the cover of the book I ordered that said "Queen Bees & Wannabees." Once I opened the book, to my surprise it said "Queen Bees & Wannabees" again!! This is not the book I ordered!! The cover has the uneven printed cover of "Dirty Rush" on it, but it is NOT that book. I attached pictures incase my explanation doesn't quite make sense as to what I mean. I can't believe this at all.

YES! Finally a book that completely and accurately depicts what it was like to be in a sorority while in college. IF you're looking for a thrilling, heart-pumping, dramatic novel, this isn't it... if that's what you were expecting, well, you're an idiot. And if your collegiate sorority experience wasn't like this, I truly feel bad for you, because you missed out. Big time. It reads like a blog post and it's addicting. Besides the typical girl drama, there's a drug scandal, a sex video scandal, and so much sh!t-talking that it feels accurate reading it/it brought me back to my weekly chapter meetings... but it also shines light on the Greek system and depicts a true insider perspective on it. It's true, from the outside looking in, you just don't understand it. I think this book did a good job showing it from the inside out. I love my sisters. I love this book and it makes me want to go back to college SO bad!

This was a fun read! My college experience was no where near this and I didn't rush, but it was still fun to be taken back to that carefree college lifestyle which this book did masterfully. It wasn't anything profound but it was a fun story and a really quick entertaining read.

You know, when I preordered this book in April of last year, I didn't realize it was a non-fiction book. I'm curious to how much of it is fiction and how much of it is "fictionalized" to suit narrative structure and possibly protect the identities of those who experienced them. Or maybe it's all fake.

Fake or real, this is a good, quick, entertaining read. The prose isn't overly verbose, and the authors obviously believe in the tenet "start as far into the scene as you can", which made me want "one more page" until it was two hours past when I like to go bed.

My Greek life experience includes one frat party I went to when I was 17 and visiting a friend at college. It was not NEARLY as entertaining as this book.

This book is a caricature of sorority life. It isn't meant to be a serious portrayal of what it's like to be in a sorority or a piece of great literature. The plot is completely outrageous and the antics resemble a farce play. It's fast moving, enjoyable to read and laugh out loud hysterical! So, if you want a quick, funny, light-hearted read about sorority girls, this is it!

Didn't know where this book was headed when I started. Then, it became very addicting and exciting. Had to put it down at one point because of how crazy it was getting and i couldn't seem to read fast enough. Very funny and easy to relate to.

Read this after Babe Walker, author of White Girl problems and Pychos, recommended it. Was a little confused as to why Babe would suggest it (if you've read her books;(she's not too keen on the "sorority" life) but gave it a chance and saw that though it is about a sorority, it is not the stereotypical, bubbly, petty drama I had expected.
Hoping to find more gems like this. Any suggestions?

I laughed through this entire book. Yes, it’s a fictional farce and there may be a chapter at a school where people can be this evil/nasty/promiscuous but if you read it with the grain of salt that its meant to be read with, hopefully you’ll just sit back and snicker.

What I loved: Rebecca Martinson puts together swear words and phrases like a genius. I have never laughed so hard and understood her frustrations at the same time. That email was as good as the USC one regarding rush standards. Sorority rush….good times.

What I didn’t love: With a soon to be college daughter of my own, the amount of drinking and Adderall use within the book scared me to the point that the community college a mile down the road is looking really good for her future…

What I learned: This was JUST like my sorority experience – minus the videos, texting, hazing, drinking, drugs & anal beads. Every day I’m so thankful I went to college before the internet.

    Overall Grade: B+

Hilarious book. If you enjoy lighthearted sophomoric humor, this book is for you. I shared it with a couple friends (All of whom were in Greek Life), and they thought it was hysterical. It's very easy to finish this book in a sitting or two, and really gives you insight into how young sorority women think these days - albeit in a hyperbolic manner.

If you loved the TFM book, which is written for fraternity men, then you'll love this piece, which has a targeted demo of sorority women,

Terrible. I like a good trashy novel once in awhile, but this was so predictable and poorly written that I could barely get through it. The fact that it's pitched as being written by Taylor Bell, the main character, just makes it even worse. At least if it were a true account I would give some credit for some very obvious "twists" and "turns" because it was boring because it was staying true to life, but it isn't. A generally obnoxiously written book (what character actually "yells" "shouts" and "screams" in general conversation? How often do you yell/shout/scream when you're talking to someone?). It did seem to represent some of college life pretty well, but the characters were generally flat an uninteresting.

This book was insane but I loved it. My only issue with it was that it was quite short and near the end things seemed to escalate quickly without much of an explanation. Regardless, I was unable to put it down and read the entire thing in about two hours.

If you're looking for books that are ''gems of deathless prose'', or completely unpredictable and philosophical world winds, then this book is not for you. If you are, however, looking for a quick, entertaining read, then this is definitely the book for you. Great for a summer read or to pass the time in a fun and simple way!
