    Great book! Pages are packed with awesome pictures with descriptions and fun facts (1-3 short sentences). So, it is not too wordy or boring. It groups like items together in a subject, for example it has a 2 page picture of the solar system and gives blurbs of info on the planets, then stars and solar system in general. The pictures are beautiful and your eyes move across the page easily. Also, this is a book that the child can look at many, many times and always find something you missed. I think it's a book that will be used and be enjoyed for years.
    This is a book that any child or adult would enjoy. This was a gift for a 7 year old's birthday. It actually won favor over "screen time". She is an advanced reader and was able to read a lot of the descriptions, but that didn't deter her 4 year old brother from wanting his own copy. This book is SOFT BACK, which I didn't recall reading, but that didn't stop any of us from enjoying it.

    Santa brought this to our 7-year old last Christmas, and he still turns to it frequently at night, reading an article about something or another before bedtime. While some of the topics are a bit advanced (there's a section on WWII, for example, which got him asking about Adolf Hitler), the book is a keepsake. Thick, glossy pages, wonderful illustrations, and concise, insightful articles, perfect for a younger advanced reader. We liked this book so much, that we usually keep 2-3 copies on hand to give away at birthday parties. We've seen kids to whom we've given the book as a present reading it the next day on the school bus! If that's not a solid endorsement, I don't know what is! All in all, very highly recommended.

    I previously bought the 1000+ Science Facts for my 5 year old. He didn't really care for it, maybe because the information was so sporadically placed and I think the explanations were a little difficult for him to understand. But I recently got this for him since he just started kindergarten. It's easier to read, and easier to understand, and he already loved reading about the Bones and Rocks/Minerals topics. The images are colorful and there's lots of different topics for him to choose from. I think he'll learn a lot of new information from it.

    I have purchased three of these books since the beginning of May to give to great-nieces/nephew. So far one mother of a 7-year-old great-niece has told me how much her little girl (Izzy) loves her encyclopedia. She related to me how she and Izzy were watching a nature program and Izzy said she had already read about some of the information being discussed in the program. She went and got her book and showed her mother what she had read. At another time Izzy looked up other information that had been presented on a television program to show her mother. She seems to be really enjoying her encyclopedia. I have sent her numerous story books over the last few years. It is nice to also be able to give her a nice, informative book where she will be able to educate herself while instilling a love of reading. This encyclopedia appears to be a hit with at least one of my great-nieces.

    I'm a sucker for having reference books at my house. I know it's easy to look info up on the internet, but I like to have books to quickly look things up in. I'm a future teacher and I thought this would be a good book to have in the classroom, but I like it so much that I'm going to keep it for myself. It covers a wide variety of topics; it doesn't go terribly in-depth but gives a nice general bit of information when you just want quick background knowledge about something.

    こちらの本は英語が平易で、レイアウトも見やすく、写真やイラスト満載で、見ているだけで飽きません。
    つくづく買って良かったなぁと思っています。

    例え英語が分からない幼い子でも、見るだけで楽しめると思いますし（日本語がまだ読めなくても図鑑など見ますよね？それと同じ感覚）、英語力を高めたいのであれば、努力が必要になりますが中学生に持たせるのも良いと思います。
    このレベルの英語が分かるようになれば、高校英語は楽チンです。

    宇宙、自然、動物、昆虫、魚、歴史、文化、音楽、宗教、解剖、化学、遺伝子、車、ロボットなどなど内容が多岐に渡ります。
    全部を見るもよし、好きなページばかりトコトン見るもよしです。
    TOEFL受験への入り口にもなりますし、将来に繋がる興味の涌く分野を見つけ出すことができるかもしれません。

    言語を学ぶには、写真やイラストなどのイメージはとても重要だと思います。
    日本語を覚える過程でも、実際に目にしたものの名前を親から教わったり、図鑑で見たり、分からない単語は平易な日本語で説明してもらったのではないでしょうか。
    それと同じで、目にしたものを英語で、分からない英単語は英語で説明をしてもらう、それがこの本では可能になります。
    日本の英語教育で不足しているイメージ学習、英語を英語のまま学ぶ学習を、是非ご家庭で体験していただきたいです。
