Atlas of Practical Mohs Histopathology 2013th Edition
Purchase options and add-ons
Mohs surgery is microscopically controlled surgery used to treat common types of skin cancer and allows for the removal of a skin cancer with a very narrow surgical margin and a high cure rate. However, for those involved with the Mohs procedure, it is critical to understand the optimal preparation and interpretation of frozen sections.
Complete with hundreds of high resolution figures, Atlas of Practical Mohs Histopathology is written by leading experts in the field and discusses everything from normal skin histology and rare tumors to pitfalls and incidental findings. Dermatologic surgeons, Mohs cutaneous surgeons, dermatopathologists and pathologists alike will find this book to be a comprehensive and indispensable reference.

Editorial Reviews
Review
From the reviews:
“This is a collection of photomicrographs with concise descriptions of common H&E stained frozen sections skin and skin cancers … . The ideal audience for this book is beginning Mohs micrographic surgeons, pathologists … and dermatology residents assisting in a Mohs surgery clinic. … This is an excellent book to keep near the microscope for teaching sessions. It is ideal for students of Mohs surgery tissue specimen interpretation as it presents an elegantly illustrated, organized, and thoughtful approach to the topic.” (Jon C. Starr, Doody’s Book Reviews, April, 2013)

Nice tables with good compare and contrast information. Photomicrographs could be better.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2021This book is very detailed and well written. There are nice tables with useful compare and contrast information regarding the histopathologic features among NMSCs and benign entities. However, the reproduction of the photomicrographs, many of which appear dark, underexposed, or not sharp enough falls short of what I expected for a book of its caliber and cost.
