- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2016This is the best "sleep alone" book I've been able to find (we're tried several). Other books use rewards that are unrealistic (I can't buy my kid a present every time she sleeps in her bed) or give kids crazy ideas (one books's main character only sleeps in her bed after her parents let her paint her bed herself! Sorry, I don't want my child to paint her bed). This book does a great job illustrating that the spooky things kids think are scary in the dark are just normal things that are not scary when you look at them in the light. Recommended!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2016Bought to help daughter sleep in own bed. Only read it a few times, wasn't a hit.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2017Read before you read to your kids. I read this to my son and it gave him more things to be scared of! The book goes through things kids think are scary and then gives logical reasons (like the scary noises are just mom and dad cleaning up). However! My son was not scared of “ghosts” or “monsters under the bed” until I read him the book. And even though there were good reasons given for these things, he now won’t sleep bc he’s scared of the monsters.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2019I’ve read the reviews after I purchased the book (thank God), because the reviews would’ve probably deterred me from buying it. I respect what other people are saying because I also was thinking, “hmm, a ghost?” But the book talks about how what children perceive as spooky are actually common things & there’s nothing to be afraid of. My 3.5 year old actually surprised me by telling me afterward there’s nothing to be afraid of & he can sleep alone. Overall it’s a cute book, but then again I’m not a parent that shields my children from every single thing, so I wasn’t offended by the use of monsters, ghosts, or robots. However, each parent is entitled as to what they deem appropriate.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2014Excellent kids book and a special help for parents that are struggling with this issue. Frank Mahr writes beautifully and I am looking forward to his next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2017This and a few other books encourage my daughter to sleep in her room alone
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2016I have a 2 year-old and I feel this book is geared towards children that are a bit older. Talks about how things at night are not actually scary like they seem. Decent book but not really what I was looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pages are a bit thing but the story is so cute!
Cute relatable book to read to a toddler learning to sleep alone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor content and quality
Flimsy cheap feel and quite scary pictures about ghosts and monsters. For a book seeming to try and relieve concerns about sleeping alone this seemed to achieve the opposite
