- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2016For me, I rented this book. However now i am realizing I should probably buy this book. This book will not only be used during the first semester of nursing school, but it will be used throughout your whole nursing school career. This would also be good to keep after nursing school because you will be able to refer to this book if you forget something, have questions, or just need a little refresher. This book is easy to use, super informational, and up to date on most of the information. It is easy to understand all the information in the book; they really lay it out step by step.I use this book daily for almost every single class that I have. This is undoubtedly the book that I look at the most during my nursing school. I have no doubt that I will end up buying this book to keep forever. I would suggest that not only nurses, but any person that is going into the health care field to buy or rent. I can promise this book will increase your knowledge, ability, and confidence on how to do a physical examination and a health assessment. If you can't afford to buy this book, renting is a great option that will allow you to have access to the invaluable information. So glad that I got this book and I hope you guys get this book too.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2019I'm in the RN to BSN program and I am in the 3rd week of my nursing course. I am SO glad that I purchased this textbook!!! I started the course with the ebook in the version of a PDF and found it very challenging to navigate and review the assigned readings. It was well worth the extra money to go ahead and purchase the textbook. I've been an RN for 18 years and believe that this book will be a resource beyond my nursing course and BSN program. I would highly encourage nursing students to purchase the textbook versus renting it or using the ebook PDF version. Purchasing it from Amazon was a great experience as well. Although the book was out of stock when I ordered it from Amazon, the book arrived a week earlier than I had anticipated, with free shipping, was brand new, and less expensive than ordering it from my school. Thank you Amazon!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2017This textbook was a requirement for my nursing course. I love this book because each chapter focuses on one specific body system (e.g., neurological, muscular, reproductive, etc.) in a very precise and concise manner--which is usually in the form of a chart and/or a table. Normal and abnormal assessment findings are elaborated for better understanding. I will definitely use this book through out my entire nursing career.
I only wish there was an electronic edition of this seventh edition!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2020It was what I needed for my class. No missing pages. But the hard cover was worn out and a little broken but other than that worked.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2017Book arrived on time and in near perfect condition. Just some minor wearing on the outside of the cover. All pages are in tact and there was no writing inside. There was no code, but I was not expecting to get one anyway. This textbook is very helpful because it has so many pictures of different diseases/conditions
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2019This book arrived brand new as promised in 2 days with my Amazon Prime Shipping. It's well constructed, hard cover, and includes all the resources listed.
It was the exact edition my instructor requested we use without the insane cost of college bookstore prices. I can't complain. I got an A in the course.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2019Finally a book that doesn’t just give you research, but actually shows you how to put the research into practice. I have worked to get my students to own more of their learning. This book gave me practical approaches to develop it. A must read for all teachers.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2017As a nursing student in my 1st semester - I found the e-book included with the class wasn't enough. I was on the fence in the 1st 8 week segment and finally ordered my book during the 6th week. Glad I have prime and it was delivered so quickly. I'm old school and need a physical book to hold and highlight.
