"Cree LeFavour doesn't write mere recipes-she writes symphonies of flavors, composing some of the most soulful meals I've ever come across. Her books are the most grease-splattered, dog-eared cookbooks in my kitchen, and Fish extends this extraordinary streak. It's like an ultimate greatest-hits collection from the sea."- Johnathan Miles, cooking columnist for Field Stream magazine, and author of the novels Dear American Airlines and Want Not, and of the cookbook The Wild Chef

- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2014I thumbed through a copy of this book when I saw it at Williams-Sonoma but bought it from Amazon due to a better price. I've had a copy of "The New Steak" by the same author for several years and I've liked most of the recipes in that book. I also like her approach of including recipes for suggested side dishes together with the main course. It's an excellent resource when you prepare something new that might include unfamiliar seasonings or the like.
Only improvement I'd suggest would be to do what Amazon does with her other cookbook, "Poulet," and offer the Kindle download at a substantial discount if you buy the hardcover. I like having the Kindle version loaded into the Kindle app on my iPad for when we visit relatives.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2014I have all 3 of Cree's cookbooks and really enjoy all of them. Very good addition to my 2,500 cookbook library.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2013We love this series of books by LeFavour, see also The New Steak and Poulet (chicken). We cook at home all the time and these books are very informative, inspiring and down to earth. Her research is wonderful and the book has interesting and easy recipes. We have also gifted these books to friends who like to cook. She offers us a refreshing and well thought out approach to cooking.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2019I follow Spencer Watts for a "fish - the dish" menu. I thought I was ordering his cookbook. Not. Returned it.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2013Cree takes away the fear I've always felt about being creative with fish. I LOVE her books and return to them regularly for inspiration as well as for recipes that never fail.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2019When I did an Amazon search for Spencer Watts this is what came up. The old bait and switch.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2017Gorgeous padded cover, nice images and many of them, which I love. Recipes are very diverse too.
