- Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2017I could not be more happy that I have found this book to open my eyes at to the number of calories I was consuming on a daily basis. If you are a person that needs to watch your daily caloric intake, if your keeping a Food Journal and Need the Calories of , well, Just about anything that you consume. This book will most certainly be what your looking for. I know it helped me out greatly. Before I started keeping a Daily Food Journal of what I consumed each and every day, I had no Idea how many calories that I was consuming on any given day. Now that I have changed the way I view the types of food that I consume , the amount I now eat at any given meal or snack, and also for my over all health. This book has opened my eyes on just how many calories everything that I eat has. Which has been a tremendous benefit for me to keep a close check of how many calories I am consuming at any given time of the day. It also helps me plan out my meals and my snacks to keep my daily caloric intake where it should be. Before I had this book, combined with keeping a daily Food journal, I was shocked to see the amount of calories I was eating daily. This book really helped me, and if you are looking for a book that has the calorie count to just about everything you eat than this should be the perfect book to help you too.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2014Finally replaced the little pocket calorie counters I inherited from my parents, with this. It is very comprehensive and pretty easy to use, although some foods are grouped under a category heading, and others (such as beans) are listed by specific variety--I still haven't found black beans in it. But the calorie/protein/sodium listings are invaluable, when I don't want to put on my patience hat and look things up on my phone.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2018Not quite what we expected; while it has pretty much any food you could want, the way it is set up makes it difficult to find what you are looking for. I am less interested in a Wendy's Frosty, but would really like to find simple things such as plain yogurt, various meats, fruits and veggies. It's all there, but you've got to dig through lots of stuff to find what you need. A different arrangement of entries, headers, bolding, italicizing, highlighting, etc. might help. Don't think we'll use this much. Just too unwieldy.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2017Everything and anything, in regards to food and calories, can be found in this book. Even fast food places are included at the back of the book. After years of yo..yo weight, I decided the only way to stay on top of my intake was to write everything down right after you put it in your mouth. Started doing this 1-1-17 and have slowly lost 24 pounds. It is interesting to read back in my journal and see how I have gradually made good changes. Here's to another 24 pounds in the next 4 months.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2014Love having this book by my side as there is nothing you cannot find in it. Recently diagnosed with Diabetes II, I refuse to let that destroy my body and the disease can if you do not watch your food intake. I have lost 37lbs and my blood sugars have really improved...in fact, they are now in the normal range, but I do continue to take my Metformin faithfully because I don't want to be on daily insulin injections...it's much easier to take a pill! This book will provide you with everything you need to know about every single food that is out there. Buy it!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2019This calorie counter goes too far (maybe it was someone's thesis?) and is difficult to use. There is NO INDEX, so, good luck finding what you are looking for! Trying to get around listings for restaurants, 90% of which I never heard of, is IMPOSSIBLE! I never did find the listing for just brown rice or broccoli or chicken or any of the normal foods one might eat on a daily basis! If I had a fireplace, I would use it for kindling! If you want an easy to use and well-organized calorie counter, check out CalorieKing here on Amazon!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2019I waited with baited breath to finally receive this book. It is small enough to fit into my purse although I don't keep it there. I have a lunch box that has a pocket it fits into along with my small journal. This is going to help a lot when I need to know how much of an item I can eat... Love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Top Resource for serious Dieters and Calorie/Carb counters
Very comprehensive listings obviously, but missing some basic foods such as some cereals and vegetables. This is a quite thorough anaylsis of most available North American foods and some ethnic offerings. Dieters may find it overwhelming but useful if you are patient.

Lots of information in a small book. The condition of the book was 100% but I found the printing could have been larger.
