The best bang for your buck gift Bible

The best bang for your buck gift Bible
I bought this for my coworker who has never had or read the word of God! I have the same one except with the leather binding (I highly recommended that one for a long term personal bible). This is the less expensive binding but it has all the same extremely helpful notes! This is THE perfect gift bible. It is high quality, easy to read, and has notes that are both complex and understandable. When I’m listening to sermons in church, I look at the notes in this Bible and it gives me a heads up of what the pastor is about to connect. Overall, an excellent resource for anyone who wants to be a student of God’s Word!

Have bought this for myself and for many others! Short and sweet and to the point for the commentary. Not too overwhelming for a new believer or someone just starting with the Bible.
Love this translation and helpful maps and charts inside! Letters of Jesus are not in red which was kind of a bummer and pages are thin but everything else is great. I recommend wax highlighters for this Bible.

Font is small wouldn’t recommend for someone older that needs readers. But, if you got decent eyes like me, you’ll be ok with this font.

This Bible is packed with many features that make it a top-notch study Bible. It does have an abridged edition of the ESV Study Bible notes, but it also has things not found in its larger parent. These include side-bar character studies and some very fine articles in the back of the Bible on subjects like the Authority of the Bible, The Importance of the Church, How to Read and Understand the Bible, the Bible in Daily LIfe, and more! It's a treasure trove of scriptural truth. The title is unfortunate, for it really stacks up to almost any study Bible out there. AND you can carry it with you! I'd also recommend the Kindle version as its navigation is pretty spiffy!

I got this to study the history and literature of the Bible, and I am impressed by the level of detail and explanation it has both of historical maps, timelines, tables as well as footnotes on scripture. While some of the footnotes do take up extensive page-space, they do help the beginning reader with interpretation and historical context, and there are additional philosophical and religious explanations that add context to the whole of what the Bible means

Awesome book. Full of information and commentaries.

its full of maps, timelines and explains the verses that one reads. Hardcover is the best as it comes as a solid book.

    cons
the pages are not thick enough, so the print goes through the pages. I do not highlight for this reason. So when your reading you can see the print on the other side of the pages.

the writing is a little small, so if you want to use the verse concordance notes that they have its a little difficult at times.

I love the quality of the book, but the font is just a bit too small. Only if my eyes were a bit better, I would have loved to keep this version... but ended up returning it, and getting a bigger font Bible... but that one is huge... this one is just the right size... if you have a good eye sight.

I buy this bible for each one of our students at our church from 6th grade and up. It is awesome and includes all the study material they need. the quality is great and the way it is formatted is pretty easy to understand. It still helps to show students how to read and use it, but once you do, it is a great tool. Highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A good translation
Reviewed in Canada on November 8, 2021
This translation is based on the KJV with the thees, thous, etc replaced with modern pronouns. It is similar to the New King James Version, but a different translation. I like the NKJV, but it only comes in limited formats. The "study" part of the "student" Bible is condensed from the regular "study" Bible. I find the study notes are rank with biases of the writers and usually not helpful, but I enjoy the cross references. I also have a NKJV study Bible, and similarly find the study notes to not be useful, but enjoy the cross references. I find the notes on different manuscripts are also useful, which both the ESV and NJKV provide, though they seem to have only a few.
