This is really a nice piece of work. It explains Statistics so easy and well and no important information are left out. It is full of good illustrations, which really helps to understand even the most complicated equation. And probably the best thing are the exercises at the and of each chapter and after each important paragraph. These exercises really help a lot and are also a good practice for exams!

Oh statistics...how I loathe you. This book, though, takes some of my trepidation away. Plenty of examples for each new concept. I also liked how they emphasized how each equation built upon pervious equations. I like to keep a couple of statistics books on hand to reference different scenarios, and this book is a good addition to the group. It's also nice how the content won't change too much in the future, so this book should be relevant for a long time.

This book has a lot of good examples and explanations in it. I need it for a biology stats. class at the UofA and it is working out well so far. Certainly better than the other math books I've seen them use! I got the book very fast and had no problems with shipment.

EDIT: I used this book through the semester and as the problems got more complex, the help the book provided did not. That left a lot of students in the dust. The beginning of the book was understandable, but I really did get lost further on.

This textbook is terrible, but if you're buying this book it's probably because you don't have a choice. I had to use it for my Stats class where my teacher didn't speak English very well so I was mostly relying on the textbook. It is impossible to just learn from this book. It does not explain anything. It shows you all these ways of finding some number to describe some set of data (although it doesn't even do that very well!) but it doesn't tell you why it is useful or what it tells you about the data. One cannot learn statistics from this book. All it's good for is problems.

Whilst while comparing editions I struggled to find much difference between them the colour definitely adds something to the explanations and makes it easier to understand. Covering the basics and then a little bit more, with exercises for practice this is well worth getting for any A-Level or university introduction to statistics.
