About the Author

Robert I. Kabacoff received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1978 and a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1985. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in family research at Brown University Medical School in 1986. In 1987,  he joined the faculty in the Center for Psychological Studies at Nova University, teaching courses in psychopathology, family therapy, multivariate statistical methods, and statistical computing. From 1990 to 1993, he served as the Center’s Director of Research Support and Training, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1990 and Professor a few years later.In 1997, Robert moved to Portland, Maine to take a position as Vice President of Research with the Management Research Group, an international organizational development and consulting firm. His primarily research interests are in the areas of diversity and leadership, cross-cultural issues, and the development of effective leadership in a global economy. For the past decade he has been actively engaged in research and consultation with academic, governmental, and business organizations in North America, Western Europe, Africa, and the Pacific Rim.

    Rob Kabacoff is Vice President of Research for MRG, a global organizational development firm based in Portland Maine and Dublin Ireland. He has more than 20 years of experience providing research and statistical consultation to government, academia, and private industry. Prior to joining MRG, Dr. Kabacoff was a professor of psychology at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, where he taught graduate courses in clinical psychology, quantitative methods and statistical programming. He lives in Portland, Maine with his wife Carol Lynn and golden retriever Ella.

    This book was assigned to us during my postgraduate studies. It is one of the most boring books I have ever seen. It explains statistics in words which is ironic. There are no graphs or visual examples. I do not recommend it at all for students who are exposed to this field for the first time. The book is divided into chapters of the different statistic topics without demonstrating the concept visually. There are two articles at the end of each chapter: one is evaluated by the authors and the second one is to be done by the reader. Still, it was not enough to be able to evaluate the articles or understand the statistical topic. Such a waste of time!
