About the author

Jarrett J. Krosoczka, known since boyhood as "JJK," is the New York Times bestselling author/illustrator behind more than forty books for young readers, including his wildly popular Lunch Lady graphic novels, select volumes of the Star Wars™: Jedi Academy series, and Hey, Kiddo, which was a National Book Award Finalist. Krosoczka creates books with humor, heart, and deep respect for his young readers—qualities that have made his titles perennial favorites on the bookshelves of homes, libraries, and bookstores over the past twenty years.
In addition to his work in print, Krosoczka produced, directed, and performed in the full-cast audiobook adaptations of his graphic novels. The Hey, Kidoo audiobook garnered both Audie and Odyssey Awards for excellence in audiobook production. The Lunch Lady audiobook cast is led by Kate Flannery (The Office) and is rounded out by famed audiobook narrators and real kid actors! Krosoczka has been a guest on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross, has been profiled in The New York Times, was featured on Good Morning America, and has delivered three TED Talks, which have accrued millions of views online. Krosoczka has garnered millions of more views online via the tutorials he has produced for YouTube and TikTok. As well as working on his books' film and television adaptions, Krosoczka has also written for The Snoopy Show (Apple TV+) and served as a consultant for Creative Galaxy (Prime Video), and appeared in live segments for the show.
Realizing that his books can inspire young readers beyond the page, Krosoczka founded School Lunch Hero Day, a national campaign celebrating school lunch staff. A consummate advocate for arts education, Krosoczka also established the Joseph and Shirley Krosoczka Memorial Youth Scholarships, which fund art classes for underprivileged children in his hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Krosoczka lives in western Massachusetts with his spouse, their three children, pugs Ralph and Frank, and a French bulldog named Bella Carmella.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2018My daughter is a huge fan of Jarrett Krosoczka and loves his books and artwork. I surprised my daughter with "The Principal Strikes Back" on the day of release and she was beyond overjoyed. (Thank you Amazon for the timely delivery!) She immediately sunk into a mound of pillows and started to read. When she came up for air, she said "It is soooooo good!! Its so awesome!" Thank you Jarrett! We HOPE some way, some how, you could do another Jedi Academy...
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2018I bought this for my 10 year-old who reads everything and he has read it several times. It even a quick easy read for my 8 year old that has a lexile score of 610 (book is rated 650). Keep coming out with more. My 3 boys love these books and trade them all the time!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2018We couldn't wait for this one to come out because our son raced through the first several books. They are funny and introduce some new vocabulary. He read most of the books at 7 and 8 years old, though he seems to be an advanced reader. I think kids ages 9-10 or maybe more would enjoy, too.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2019I sooo much want to read the next but I’m sad there almost over it’s a great book I gust don’t know why that boy was in the robot like just why not give it a review instead of taking over the school
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2018This book is related to the Star Wars franchise and it takes place in a school called Jedi Academy. The antagonist of the story is the principal, Commandeer ZC-06 who happens to be a loud mouth droid. The students are suffering because of this mean new Principal. One student named Victor Starspeeder believes that something is off at the school and with the help of his friends, he wants to find out what. Some of the main characters include Elara, a friend who just happens to be in love with him, Artemis a book loving friend, and last and possibly least according to Victor, Mr. Zephyr the meanest teacher in school.
This is a fiction book, and it is an easy read that is geared towards kids. I give it 3 stars because it didn’t feel as full to me. This is most likely because I have not read other books in the series and because I haven’t watched many Star Wars movies. I believe if you did watch Star Wars and read other books in the series, that this will be a great book for you. However, if you haven’t read any of the other books, you will be a little lost.

Arrived as promised.
My son (7) loved this series and could not wait for this one to come out. Different style between each of the authors of the 2 trilogies but still very enjoyable.
