- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2022I was afraid of javascript for obvious reasons and hoped the book was easy to read. This one is good. You do not need a special card to access lessons as the lessons come with the book and the instructor typically pays for access and delivers it to the students. In the case you are not in a class setting then don't be alarmed because you can just purchase access. It's a great book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2019I can script, I....can.... code!
The book was helpful when combined with the "Revel" website to fall on examples. Everything from the introductory material to the more advanced concepts of J.S. this book covers- though now it's not as relevant because of the time gap, it's still good if you're taking a class or just want to brush-up on your coding skills.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2018Pros:
This is a great textbook to use if you are just learning JavaScript
Cons:
Downside is that the authors do not often give adequate step-by-step instructions for the Hands-On Exercises in the book. In my case I had to often seek clarifications from my professor.

I gave only 4-stars because some assignments lack insufficient instructions for completion.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2017It’s convenient and useful
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2022I purchased this book to go along with the eBook from class thinking that the print reading would be better. Clearly, the authors did not test the book on students. The operators used for JavaScript are too light and you have to really strain to see the code even Online. I have a print book and the orange color is too light to read. In addition, Chapter 2 practice code did not work. There you have it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2017This book will teach you JavaScript. However, for the price you can buy a series of much better books. Only bought this as it was required for a college course.
