The One and Only Stuey Lewis: Stories from the Second Grade (Stuey Lewis, 1) Paperback – September 18, 2012
Purchase options and add-ons
So what if Stuey isn't the world's best reader, is only allowed to trick or treat around one block, doesn't get to play on his soccer dream team, and has to put up with the most annoying girl on the planet. Somehow Stuey always makes life work and when he puts his mind to it, he can survive anything―even second grade. This hilarious collection of linked short stories, interspersed with sprightly line drawings, marks an impressive chapter book debut.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2013Stuey Lewis is a little boy entering the 2nd grade with real world 2nd grade worries and a wonderful imagination. My son had me reading this book to him over and over again and would get very upset if the library copy was not available. So I decided to purchase his own copy. This book allowed my son to experience the love of reading as a 1st grader. Two years later, he still reads Stuey for he loves his Halloween "do-over" scheme and his struggles as a 2nd grader. Cudos to Jane Schoenberg!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2013I have a son who is older but who is reading at a 2nd grade level. This book was fun for him to read and he learned from it too. One of the nice things about the Kindle version is that you can highlight words that I had to help him with and then reveiw them after you are done reading that part. It is a great learning tool.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2015My son wasn't a fan of reading. I began reading, The One and Only Stuey Lewis, at bedtime. He looked forward to reading about Stuey and his adventures. He even requested we read the book and asked if he could read along! I am so glad I purchased this book!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2014We read this book as part of out libraries book club that my 3rd grade daughter is in and f round it very entertaining. A very quick, e a st and fun read, white we read it together, my 5th grade son also enjoyed the story line.
Gave it this rating because it was well written and age appropriate
- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2013I find that this book actually relates to my child, who is going through the similar situations as Stuey. It helped to realize how to handle certain situations ( how to speak up when you afraid of not doing something, face fears, etc)
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2014. I liked this book a lot. My favorite story was the soccer one. And the haloween one too. I liked the end too when Stuey surprised Lily. This author is good at writing.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 20134 short stories. Beginning of the year, Halloween, soccer team, and end of the school year. Cute & appropriate. My 2nd grade class will be revisiting this book throughout the year.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2012I thought the stories were cute. I returned the book though because I had bought it for my son's 2nd grade class. The book used the word "stupid" referring to the brother, too many times to feel comfortable giving it to the classroom. Also the grammar was incorrect "me and my friend" too often to overlook it. I didn't want to reinforce that.
