"This textbook is aimed at the trainee and young plastic surgeon, but it is extremely comprehensive and sufficiently detailed for any practitioner. The information is succinct, yet complete and up to date. . . . For a single-volume book, the detailed knowledge presented is impressive. . . . I think this is a great book. It is packed with good and up-to-date information, and I think it will be an invaluable resource for trainees but also for all plastic surgeons. The editors are to be congratulated on achieving a very difficult task with such success."
from a review by Peter C. Neligan, MB, in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

"This is exactly what the editors of Plastic and reconstructive surgery: Approaches and Techniques set out to achieve in producing this excellent textbook. . . . It is truly an international effort at all levels, as the editors, from Australia (Ross D. Farhadieh), the UK (Neil W. Bulstrode) and Canada (Sabrina Cugno), have joined forces to recruit over 130 international contributors and produce a resource of over 1100 pages that provides a well-organized and thorough, yet succinct, text of the essentials of current plastic surgery. . . .Many of the contributors are world-renowned experts; however, there is also a new generation of young rising stars whose contributions are equally good, providing a new, fresh and contemporary feel."
from the Foreword by Julian J. Pribaz, Professor of Surgery, Harvard Medical School

"The authors here have concentrated all this useful information into their chapters in a quite outstanding manner. Any plastic surgeon of whatever maturity will find this an excellent purchase which he/she will have no reason to regret."
from a review by Douglas H. Harrison in Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery

One is almost paralysed by choice in the world of plastic surgery textbooks and finding a single volume text that adequately covers the vast array of topics has been hard to find-until now. Each chapter begins with the pertinent background and relevant anatomy with reference to the latest research developments. This book has saved me on numerous occasions from the nerve-wracking questions of consultants. I would highly recommend this book to both juniors and seniors in plastic surgery.

My only suggestion for the 2nd edition would be to include a dedicated section to hand fractures-principles of reduction and fixation; properties of plates and screws; and decision algorithms for common fractures.

I love this book. It is well organized, visually stunning and a pleasure to read. You need to buy the print version because a well put together textbook looses a lot in the kindle version. It is comprehensive, covers everything in great detail without being pretentious. I am a PGY2 and have been devour this for the last three weeks. I am kicking ass on rounds. I think this is a great medium between the simplistic text aimed at board preparation and massive dense works which can only be used as a reference. A good one from down under, it almost compensates for sending us Russel Crowe.

This text has a stellar cast of international authorities in Plastic Surgery; Wayne Morrison, Bryan Mendelson, Philip Blondeel, Tim Marten, Bahman Guyuron, Francois Firmin, Robert Flowers, Susan Mackinnon, Elizabeth Hall-Findlay, Foo Chan Wei, Paul Smith, Stefan Hofer, Brian Sommerlad and many more.

It has an excellent reconstructive and aesthetic section. I have been using Grab and Smith and this book is far more comprehensive. I would argue it is the most in depth single volume textbook. As a plastics registrar I find this book extremely easy to read and finding the subject field of interest is a breeze.

The schematics and figures are very helpful and mostly, this book might be all you need to pass your fellowship. Extremely happy with this purchase.

An excellent, comprehensive and engaging text book which covers all topics for the training plastic surgery registrar, as well as consultants keen to stay updated. Essential for preoperative preparation; explaining relevant anatomy and key concepts in each chapter with useful figures and photos throughout. Explains clinical pearls from world-renowned experts and includes extensive reference list for further reading for exams.
A must-buy!
