- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2018My daughter competes in knowledge-based equine competitions. Her 4-H equine IQ leader recommended this textbook for studying to her group. It is well-organized, providing great attention to details. For example, she likes the tables of information, such as types of poisonous plants or drugs used to treat internal parasites. At the end of every chapter, there is a review or summary page. Her favorite part is the Critical Thinking/Discussion section, where she has to apply what she has read in an essay type question. If you are interested in horse ownership, hippology (equine IQ), or equine veterinary science, then you will enjoy this book.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2018If you are looking to save some money and need the textbook for class, this will suffice. It is not printed in the United States and lacks the color photos. However, I brought it to my professor and they were surprised and said it would work for class.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2018Usually when I rent textbooks I keep the packaging to send it back in and it always works fine. For this one in order to open it you had to toally pull a tab back and like splitting it apart making keeping packaging annoying and difficult. Textbook arrived in great condition though.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2013Bought this book because I needed it for one of my college classes and its great! The illustrations and details are very helpful and I got the book the day after it shipped. I recommend this book for anyone, whether your a college student or just a horse lover.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2014Great! But it has some mistakes. There should be more species listed on the evolutionary path of the horse. They only show 4.
It has nice diagrams for basic horse anatomy and plenty of charts for breeds and their characteristics.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2013This book is fantastic Colorado State University is now requiring it for their Intro to Equine Science class. That says a lot since CSU has the best Equine Science program in the country. (plus buying it on Amazon is cheaper than the book store even with over night shipping)
