About the author

GRACIE ADAMS is the author of the Giving Up on Giving Up series. During her younger teenage years, she discovered emotional pain to be an incredible inspiration for art and poetry--and she has been using that to not only cope with her own mental health issues, but also to help others who struggle. Her poems, quotes, drawings, and prose take many on a roller coaster of downfalls and recovery. She hopes to inspire others and reinforce the fact that you are not alone.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2022I got this book in the mail today. Read the whole thing as soon as i got it and couldn’t help myself and ordered the second book! As a teen myself I can self reflect from these and use them as motivation that i’m not the only one who feels certain type of ways. I’ve learned now that poetry helps me! Thank you to the author!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2019I bought this book for my teenage granddaughter because she was going through a rough time. The book made her feel less alone and normal. She told me that many of the poems in this book were exactly how she was feeling, and it gave her hope that things will get better. She especially loved the humor despite the seriousness of the subject matter. I can’t wait to buy her the next book in the series. I want to let parents or grandparents know that some of the language may be troublesome but it is very realistic and relatable to today’s teenagers. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautifully written book
At first i was septic of this book. Thought it might portrait badly depression and other problems but i was entirely wrong. A splendid book, beautifully written and that is very poetic. Of course big warning for sensitive content as it give you the total but i was here for it and loved it.
