Christopher Yorke grew up in the hills of North Clark County in Washington State. He graduated from Washington State University with degrees in Agriculture and Economics. After a 32 year career of teaching Agriculture Science he began writing about one of his passions, distilling moonshine and other spirits. Mr. Yorke learned the process of distilling at a small craft distillery in SW Washington. At this point he has written six books about distilling. The Whiskey Distiller's Training Manual, the Moonshine Distiller's Training Manual, the Home Distilling Handbook, the Home Distilling Handbook 2nd Edition, 150 Distilling Recipes, and The Ultimate Home Distilling Handbook.

    This is the book to get if you want to actually make whiskey yourself! This is the book I keep by my fermenting pail and still and follow the detailed instructions and record notes into copies of the pre-written forms. I have purchased and read several of the other books out there but this is the one that can successfully guide you from what to purchase or scrounge to the moment the magic liquids first drip. I was stuck on which still might work and the recommendation in this book clarified all of that. All of the items mentioned in the book are easily purchased and I got everything together in a couple of weeks. This training manual is so complete and easy to follow it almost seems like cheating.
